Hi, all, been having some trouble with a rebuilt coil on my Vivi Nova v3. The original coil burned into the grommet in the replaceable head without my knowledge, so when I went to disassemble so I could burn off all the gunk, the whole wick/coil assembly got ripped into pieces. I had some 34ga Kanthal A1 and 1mm silica handy, so went ahead and built a new coil(4 wraps around 4 strands of silica, comes out to about 1.8 Ohms, original was 2.4). The other day, I took it back apart and burned the gunk off like I normally do, went exactly as expected. Next day, I was having some performance issues, so I looked at the coil. It had turned red. NOT red hot, there was no power applied, just red. Not sure what this is, never seen it before. Figured someone on here might have some idea as to what the cause could be, and whether I should try again, or if it's safe to just keep on going. Just in case it's pertinent, before burning, I rinse with hot water, and my batt is a Smoktech 900maH. Have used this setup before with no issues. Thanks in advance.
