I have viewed multiple tutorials.. my materials are 33ga kanthal, 100% cotton wick. My coils are tight, and I get about 4 or so wraps, hitting 2.2 ohms almost every time. I have been rebuilding these for 2 hours straight to get the hang of it, but I can't figure out why they aren't producing vapor! Anyone have any trouble shooting steps for me? What should I look for? Similar experiences?

It could be you are using to much wick. and the slots are choking the wick. How big are you making your wicks?
I use #4 Cotton, which is what everyone seems to recommend. I do believe that it is wicking correctly, since I get tons of flavor, yet not very good vapor. I am going to have another go in a few minutes. Thanks for the link BJ, maybe I just need to break it in a bit more!

I build my coils very consitiantly, however there is so much variance with the performance. At the time I posted this I had terrible vapor, but the flavor seemed okay from what I could taste (somewhat muted). I am using #4 yarn, and I tried taking one of the four threads out to make the wick thinner since one user suggested it could be too thick. Now I am getting burnt dry hits even if I keep the tank on its side for an extended period of time. I also use a provari, and I've tried lowering the voltage, but I still get those dry and burnt hits.

Pic of one of my coils.

Is it burnt taste like burning rubber? You could make the legs of your coil out of non resistance wire that may help. Also you are priming your wick before you first fire it? Once cotton is burnt rewicking is the only way to get rid of the burnt taste.
Nope, not tasting like rubber. I double up my legs so that it lowers the resistance and doesnt get as hot. And yeah I usually put a drop or two directly on the wick, and then twirl the tank so get the wicks wet.
i've never tried yarn..have you tried silica wick?

Nope, since everyone raves about cotton wick, that is what I got. They say its supposed to wick better and taste better than anything :\
