I noticed on my Provari it looked really flush to the device after being screwed on. I thought that might have something to do with it, so I put it on the twist and it was basically the same, so I dunno. I've used more than one type of juice with it and from different vendors too. I wish I knew what was going on too

Did it ever work well? Have you cleaned it and gave it a good dry burn? Dry burning the coils is a MUST or else you'll eventually get no vapor or flavor (other than some nasty burning taste).

No, it hasn't worked that well since I've been using it. Yes I have cleaned and dry burned.

I'm thinking there is a rash of bad atty's out there for these vivi nova's. Something is not in spec about them. I never totally liked Stardusts nor vivi nova's in the first place. To me they mute the flavor a lot, compared to my regular cartomizers. However, I do use them from time to time for certain juices. I ordered a bunch of replacement 2.4 ohm atty's for mine and they seem weak and cool compared to the former ones. Also had to fiddle with them to get them to fire. A couple of my vaping friend's also brought this matter up. I ordered my replacements from altsmoke, and I think they got theirs from gotvapes.

Mine were a miss as well, but then again it turns out I don't enjoy devices that are top coil. I was able to get plenty of vapor, but they were super muted flavor wise.

I love CE3's and the Kanger T3, both of which are bottom coils and have tons of flavor. The downside is they aren't a super warm vape, which is fine for me, but some folks seem to like a really warm vape.

Hope you find what works best for you soon.

Do you get better vapor production if you leave it slightly loose and not fully tight? If it's an airflow issue ... that *should* allow you to know if that's the problem. Otherwise I'm kinda stumped. If your wicks are working and the coils are clean (to the point you can see each coil going around the wick) ... it should be just fine.

Weird

One thing I would be interesting in knowing is with the people who can't get them to work right, how tightly their coils are wrapped. The Novas work much better with the coils wrapped very .. very right. My coils came basically touching each other from the vendor I bought them from.

If all these people who are unhappy with them have wider spread coils, it could potentially be the "spec" we are looking for.

I agree with you on those vivi's. I have fluffed, trimmed, swirled, tried different heads and they are still muted and produce crappy vapor. You aren't going to match the carto tanks with these things, not even close.

Some people like them, but they do not fit my vaping style. I like clouds of vapor and loads of flavor so they are not for me.

Agreed. I just ordered some new 2.4 ohm heads yesterday and now I regret it. I don't know why I did it, I just did. I'm giving it one more go. If it fails on me AGAIN, it's bye bye time.

Just looked at the coils again, they are really close together like you said. I do notice slightly less vapor when on my Provari than on the twist. Still not much vapor though, and that's with a long draw.

Good luck with those! I want to try some Kanger T3's, I have some Kanger T2's and really enjoy them. Wonder if there is much of a difference with the T3's.

I never got to try the boge cartos before the whole bogegate thing. So I never purchased any to try just assuming they would have a strange flavor to it. Maybe I should just pick up a few and see how I like them.

Ray's tanks come with a pre-installed Boge carto, that's why ended up using them. I wouldn't have know what to use. ;)

I just went and looked at mine. I have my originals and the extra heads. They all look the same, to me. All wound close together.

Hi Liquid9,
I didn't like cartomizers when i first started, but i never did try the Boge. So, i decided to get some Boge at Sure Vapes in Nov. and ive been on one for 3 days now. Its not bad, im a lot happier with the Boge compared to who Knows what i was using back in July. I think i will be getting more.

See, that's the thing. I know a lot of people get into modifying, rebuilding, etc., but I just want to vape. Having to fiddle around with something is a turn-off for me.

Nova wasn't bad with its stock setup for me, but the flavor was muted and the heads required more frequent cleaning than I like to maintain the performance.

I did however just make a #400 SS mesh wick and used some 30awg kanthal and its a much, much different device entirely. Flavor is full, vapor is better and thick, no wicking issues (no tilting required thus far).

Working on a #500 wick and head too but I want to switch over my Smok ReDux. Don't have an eGo adapter for my provari though (hell if I'm going to put a trial, 2nd try head on an ego).

I've been using Smoktech for the most part. Feel like I need to try some other brands out there. I think I will pick up a few boges too.
