I bought a lavatube v2 last november and it keeps breaking. My third one is about to take a crap and I am sick of not having a e cig for a week or 2 everytime it breaks so I want to by something to replace it. I'd like to spend as little as possible, but I'd like it to be reliable, I don't mind spending more for reliability. I'd rather not spend 160 on a provari. Any suggestions?

If you like the VV/VW then try the Vamo. But, as with any ecig you need a backup. Even a provari needs a backup. You learn very fast that you never want to only have 1 ecig in your arsenal. Keep an eye out at vaporjoes blog for really great deals on all things vaping. Here lately he's posted several vamp deals.

I have a Sigelei Zmax V3 flat top telescopic and I love it. Its telescopic feature allows you to use various battery configurations from 18350 to 18650 without adding or removing extra pieces. It's very sturdy and well built out of stainless steel. The Zmax has both VV and VW options and a 1 button menu. You can get it for the very reasonable price of $57.83 at Exhale Vapors using the coupon code vaporjoes11percent.

I spent 140 on my lavatube asshole........ People in the lavatube v2 thread were telling me it was better than a provari.

Well here it is, if you want reliability............ Buy a Provari.....Best bang for you buck-rock solid-USA built quality VV mod.... There is a reason there is such a Provari fanboy club...........They are built to last for years with no issues...
I suggest the Full size with ext cap Silver V2.5 Provari with a Green LED....The Red LED is way to bright and glaring..... The Blue LED is cool too......
You will get what you pay for this time:thumb:

You need to buy a simple mechanical mod. Segelie comes to mind. Cheap and reliable. No electronics means it'll last forever.

You should also refrain from calling people names. It's not nice and is counter-productive to getting anyone else to answer your questions. Even if they do post non-helpful messages in response to your question. :2c:

No need for hostility. My point remains the same. If you buy something that cost a little don't expect a lot. Sux that you are out that much money. Next time maybe you'll buy something that comes with a warranty like a Provari. :toast:

Ok, let me first say that I understand your frustration. It's hard to know which mod is good when people post great reports about their personal APV after only owning it for a day or two. I saw the same reports time and again. So I finally decided to go through the whole forum and Google to get as much information as I could about the reliabilty of each mod I was considering. These are my conclusions. Btw- I dont own any of these.

The Provari is the least likely to have problems. I've used a black 2.5 Provari for a week and I was very happy with it. But I don't have the money to buy one.

This next one was a surprise because I was about to settle for the new Sigelei telescoping flat top V3.
- The Tesla - Jet Black | Variable Voltage | MODS | iVAPE

The Tesla doesn't have a lot of issues that I can find. I've searched here and on google. The fact that it doesn't look like every other mod also appealed to me. But that does me no good if I have to replace it in a few months. I haven't read any posts that would indicate a replacement is necessary in a short period. As a matter of fact I emailed a few (7) Tesla owners to verify the reliability of the unit. The only problem that came up was that tbe spring in the bottom cap sometimes isn't placed properly. This can lead to the unit shutting itself off without notice. All you have to do is set the spring in the proper groove in the end cap and it has no more problems.

Like I said, I did a lot of reading. The other mods (again, with the exception of the Tesla or Provari) have problems that usually end up with the owner buying a new mod in a few months. I don't have that kind of money, and if I did I'd just buy a Provari.

This post isn't meant to offend other people or their choices. If you enjoy your mod then that's great. I'm looking for the same enjoyment, and I believe that the Tesla will provide it.

I'm ordering my Tesla Friday and I can't wait to get it. :)

Why do these threads always stray to a provari fanboy meet up? ((rhetorical))

Although the op did say he'd rather not spend the money the money on a Provari, their frustration is obvious. The Provari or the Tesla, in my research, have proven to be very reliable. It only makes sense to let the op know about my findings. Others that own the Provari have stated their first hand knowledge of that device. I know that there are a few people here that have owned at least 3 other mods before buying the Provari and they all say the same thing. They wished that they had just bought the Provari first because it would've saved them a lot of money.

I've let the op know that the Tesla seems to be as reliable. Does that make me a Tesla fanboy? Others have recommended Vamos. Are they Vamo fanboys?

Let me give you another scenario.

I was a the shooting range one day. In the middle of a match my scope failed for some reason and I couldn't finish the match. An older gentleman saw me in the club house and came over because I was doing well in the match and I was obviously aggravated. He said "son, only a rich man can afford a cheap scope". The next day i went out and bought a very expensive scope and I never had a problem competing in matches. That saying applies here as well. Only a rich man can afford a cheap mod. I'm not rich by any means, but if I had the money I'd by a Provari. Because I don't have that kind of money I had to find the next best thing as far as reliability and performance are concerned. The Tesla fits both of those descriptions well.

I hope the op finds what they want and continues to enjoy vaping. :)

All the money you have probably spent on lava tubes you could have bought one provari. If you don't want a provari the Vamo looks cool, I've thought about getting one as a back up to my provari. I'm sure someones provari has malfunctioned or quit working, but mine hasn't failed me once in 7 months, plus the 1 year warranty is attractive and anything after that will be repaired for a reasonable price. Good luck hope you find what your looking for. Check out box mods they are pretty sturdy. Reo grand like someone else said.

Generally I agree with this thinking. But when it comes to the Vamo, I believe you are getting quite a bit for what you are paying. Mine has function fine for 3 - 4 months. At $27 - $39, even if it stopped working after a year, it would be the best "bang for the buck" PV on the market. Variable watt with a 5 amp switch is rare.

The Sigelei Z-Max delivers very good voltage / wattage regulation, and the SS build is quite nice. PBusardo's review shows the #'s: (He likes it almost as much as his Provari ;) )

Vapesquad's review was quite favorable (regarding accuracy) also:

Sigelei Telescoping ZMax V3 - Vape Squad

Performance: 9/10

We were very impressed with the ZMax’s performance, and its accuracy in particular. We have come across few mods as accurate across their entire range of possible settings. We have experienced no misfires with the

We found the device to be fairly accurate, only straying up to .2 volts from what it was set for, across its entire range. The ZMax was easily much more accurate than our eVic or Vamo, among others. It is quite likely the second most accurate mod we’ve tested, being barely beaten by the Provari.

Vapesquad's review unit did stop working after 1 day, but I've been using mine for over 6 months now with no issues. :)

I believe the Provari mini takes a 18350 and you don't need to by an extra end cap. The Tesla I have now is built really well, but it only takes 18650 batteries. The Sigelei Zmax V3 is telescoping so you can use 18350 or 18650 batteries in it. But there have been reports of firing button problems over time. I believe that that there is a Zmax mini that takes 18350 batteries also. Hope this helps out. :)
