I use the M402 (shorter 401) and love it. It is the size of a 100 cig. Easy draw, and refilling the carts is not that hard. It takes maybe 30 seconds at most to do each cart...so I refill 4-5 at a time and it takes less than 5 minutes. I get loads of vapor and throat hit too. Oh I'm also ending week 5 on my first atomizer. I'll have a 901 in a week, so I can't comment on that.

I also have used a DSE103...super easy drag despite being a two hole atomizer. Lots of vapor, but not a lot of throat hit. Cartridges are pretty small too. It's just too big for the analog look. If it were something besides white/brown it'd be ok.

DSE084 is too small. Battery life is too short. Vapor production is too low. And throat hit is not there. It's fun because it is the same size as an analog, but there is no weight to it. I feel like I'm going to break it.

I have been using the same atomizer for 2 months out of the box and Im ruff on this thing 5-10 second some 15 second drags and it still puffs like a chiminy... I think most dead atomizers are user error and letting them run dry will kill them so top off refill even drip from time to time and you should have no issues... so in response to your question I would say no... just take care of your equipment!!!

you sound like me... I think I am abusing mine too much too lol 5-10 second drags consistently

a week so far for me and no problems so far, blown thru 10 carts that came with it and am now on my own filled carts and I must say this ecig is great even compared to the gf's 901 :)

+1 for the 510 :)

sorry i'm skipping reading all the replies, so forgive if i'm repeating.

i have the 901 and 401, and honestly, i'd say the 401 is more similar to a "real" cig. to me, it feels and draws like a real cig.

but yes, a bit of a learning curve to it compared to a 901, but honestly the 901 doesn't feel like a "cig" to me, it feels like a vaping device.

if they're a mild or light smoker, a 401 would simulate real smoking. if they're a heavy smoker, i'd possibly lean toward the 901 in terms of it having a bit more "kick" to it.

So far I'm really enjoying my KR-808D-1, available as the "Nebula" at Vapornine, apparently also the Vapor King, available at a few retailers, I think. I bought the Nebula from Vapornine, but I think you can find this model cheaper elsewhere. I bought a 901, then a Ruyan Jazz, both of which sucked, & were promptly returned. I stuck it out until this Nebula came out, & I'm glad I did. It's got great vapor & throat hit, long battery life, & a very, very convenient atomizer & cartridge set-up. It uses pre-filled, disposable atomizer + cartridge combo units that are easy to top off. It doesn't look like an analog, but it performs like one.

I was only smoking a few analogs a week, but I used to smoke a lot more, & I really wanted to find a vaporizer that would help me away from analogs completely. This model is doing just that! I'm only a few days in, & the future of vaping in the U.S. is uncertain, but I'm hopeful.

I haven't tried the Dura yet, so I freely admit that it's proponents may be right. I need to get some life out of what I've already bought before buying more.

I started on an RN4081, then an M401 and then a DSE901 Here's what I've found...

RN4081 - nice easy draw but not a lot of vapor or throat hit
M401 - harder draw, but good throat hit. Cartridges are a lttle difficult to refill, but dipping/dripping is easy
DSE901 - Very easy draw, cartridges are super easy to fill and reasonable throat hit

The M401 or 901 would be my first recommendation to a new vaper.

get a 306 don't make the mistake i did and get a 901 the 306 is smaller and more powerful. Make sure your order extra batts though they do have a short lifetime. I would recommend the 510 but I haven't personally used one yet but I hear they are amazing I cannot wait to get mine. Anybody wanna bury me in the snow till may 13 (1 internet to anybody who gets the joke)

Hmm, after reading through the majority of the thread, I think this is the course of action I will take.

I will buy the DSE-901 for him now. Something easy, and durable, to start him out on. Maybe an extra atomizer.

Eventually I will pick up the M401 and the 510, and allow him to try them and see if he likes one 'better'. If he doesn't, i'll just keep them.

Thanks for the help guys!
