Not really sure of an answer but I can tell you that I have 9 for real vivi nova's 5 of the v2 and 4 mini's. It took a tank to get everything to taste right. some sort of primer I guess. It usually comes with the 2.4ohm head. try the 1.8 and see what happens. I like mine cause they are so fuss free. I've also gone to a carto/tank system since then though.

Ok. . The cheap clearo prob has a LR coil so when you switch to a coil with a higher resistance then you will have to raise your voltage

your right,Just called an informative member on this board and he basically explained that with a 2.4 ohm head I need to crank up around 4.0 on my twist to get the vape I am probably am looking for...He was right.I'm not used to going this high up in volts.

The only disadvantage to using a higher voltage to get the vape you like is your battery drains faster. It's the power that is important (Watts) as that determines how hot the coil gets and thus how much vapour is produced.

Low resistance allows the volts to flow through the circuit fast and easy, and the fast moving volts provide a lot of energy in the form of heat (watts). for me I've found I most enjoy my vape at about 9Watts. Lots of vapour, more flavour* just all round better.

If you are using a higher resistance then you need more volts to produce the same watts. (see the handy chart in this thread. )

So if you use the 1.8 ohm head on your vivi 4v for me is about right though lots of people may prefer a slightly lower voltage of around 3.7. I vape on the 2.4 head at around 5v not 4. Everyones tastes vary though but try nudging up your voltage, then when you get to the point where it's not as good for you go back down 1 step. Also some juices I've noticed will taste better at a much lower power vape rather than up at the 9ish watts I usually try to aim at.

* as an aside your tastebuds work much better when the stuff you are tasting is above body temperature (~37C) so a warmer vapour will activate more of your tastebuds and the flavour will be more intense. (this is also why they tell you to drink cola "ice cold" - because it actually tastes ****ing awful :) )

Well now that I got it up to 4.0 and higher it is running great,I'm not used to cranking up the volts that high on anything I've used before this. This Vivi Nova runs amazingly smooth!! Thanks for everyone's help, Maybe now I will finally have a consistent nice vaping experience. Thanks U.K Gingerbread for the chart too.

My advice for people that aren't having luck with them right out of the box is to try different juices, heads, start at the lowest voltage and work your way up. Started with my favorite 70PG/30VG juice on a 2.4ohm head.......hated every voltage. Boiled the heads, ran through 1/2 dozen tanks with 2 different 2.4 ohm heads, cleaning every day, tweaking the wicks, caps, etc. Same thing. Poor flavor, poor wicking, poor vapor and dry hits.

Just pulled a second tank (bought two), put my second favorite 70pg/30vg in with a 1.8 ohm head. No boiling, cleaning, or tweaking. Best flavor I've had to date and can chain vape to my hearts content at 3.2v (5.7W).

Don't know yet if it's a bad run of 2.4ohm heads or maybe it just doesn't like key lime pie, but the moral is, they do work. Sometimes you just have to have some patience and play around with them.
