Having been smoking for 10 years I am ready to get away from tobacco. I tried many brands of e-cigs and like the cig2o and Logic the best. I thought about buying a cig2o starter kit, but for the price I can get what looks like a better system from joyetech. I was looking at the Ego-C and Ego-T, and was wondering if anyone could make a recommendation.

I have been smoking menthol cigarettes (Newport for 2 years then the last 8 its been Marlboro Menthol). I like the flavor and throat hit I get from the Logic Menthol 18mg + e-cigs and would like to find some liquid that has a similar taste. At this time I'm not really interested in fruity flavored liquids because I am looking for a smooth transition away from tobacco. I bought a pack of smokes Wednesday and still haven't finished it yet. The only reason I bought it is because the battery life on the Logic line is terrible and dies well before the flavor is gone. That means I need a nicotine backup and I'm already feeling disgusted with the taste of cigarettes.

To Logic's credit I got a speedy response from them about my concerns, but smoking their line is going to be twice as expensive for me as traditional tobacco.

Thanks in advance

As far as recommending a device, I'd strongly suggest the KGO instead of the Ego-C or T. Much better track record.

As far as juice? Well, we all have to find what works for us. There are TONS of flavors out there that aren't fruity...there are drink flavors, baked goodies and even bacon flavors. I'd suggest you buy several SMALL bottles until you find something you like, then you can buy larger bottles of what you like. Welcome to ECF!

My first ecig was a LOGIC disposable from a nearby liquor store. I loved it, but it was $11 and didn't even last a full day.. While smoking cigs at the same time. So, I ordered their 5 pack online for $40. That lasted me like three days. So I ordered another 5 pack. I agree, their customer service was pretty good. But still, disposables are not practical.

I tried other nearby store brand disposables that really sucked. Nasty flavor anyway. But, I knew that I liked LOGIC so I persisted online and that's when I found this forum.. and the rest is history.

This is a great forum, Fobba_Beans and you're in the right place for quality advice from lots of vaping veterans/ ex-smokers.

Welcome to ECF!

Thanks! I think my lungs are already doing to "self-cleaning" of getting rid of the gunk from smoking. I am a little more groggy sounding, though I feel good. There's a lot of disagreement about the health benefits or the reduced risk of vaping versus smoking. But I think at the end of the day vaping is the safer bet. It seems to me it would be more popular if tobacco wasn't a cash crop in my state and if tobacco companies weren't so large already. I found out quickly after switching that I am addicted to nicotine and not to cigarettes. In fact I had never really tried to quit before and let me say wow. My first real craving with a dead e-cig. That sucked badly. Makes me feel like what I imagined crack addicts feel like. However I can say this. As difficult as it is the explain, I do feel now that I actually have the ability to quit nicotine altogether. I don't have desire to try right now, but I never had that feeling as a smoker -- the idea was always frightening.

I did menthols for 50 years including 11 yrs. of RYO pipe tobacco - it was cheaper when they upped the taxes. I found a menthol that knocked my socks off (glad I didn't grow hair on my chest) - it's powerful & I love it. Considering that I do mostly DIY, I have to have a hoarders load of it at all times - just add it to my own brew & it stretches beautifully. Let me know if you're interested since I don't know how strong of a menthol you like. I bought Newport, Kool, B&H back in the day....don't know how those compare to what you're after. BTW congrats on wanting to switch!

I also found out how many cheap crappy smokeless cigs exist. A couple of them lacked any taste at all. Without the throat hit and the taste, its almost like I wasn't getting the nicotine. Also according to Logic some rechargeable designs can leak lithium? Sounds bad. I wonder if this is a concern for the the models not designed after a cigarette.

Youre talking about a DIY liquid you made, right? I'm very interested to find one similar to Logic's formula, though since I'm still new to vaping, there is probably something better out there. I like that it doesnt have the nasty tobacco/burnt aftertaste. It has the clean menthol taste to it but its strong. I smoked full flavor Newports for a couple of years and it made my lungs feel heavy. Once Newports were no longer available in 2 for 1 deals anymore I switched to Marlboro Menthol (full flavor) because they offer buy-1 get-1 frees. Now I never see anything like that. I think the tobacco companies were trying to grow their new crop of young tobacco smokers at the time and after that generation of smokers was hooked, it was time to pull the plug on the big promos. That's how it seems anyways. My lead at work has an Ego-T and he swears by it. He was even telling me about the bacon flavor. Ha. For now I'm sticking to menthol, simply because I know I like it and it makes the transition easier

Actually no - I'm talking about an eliquid from Volcano called 'menthol burst - full flavor' - IMO this stuff is the best I have found. Sorry, I must have been confusing w/my DIY. I basically make my own base to stretch their juice.

I am now 19 days off of analogs. I had/have cravings, but with the ecig, I could handle them. I smoked 1/2 to 1 pack per day of Marlboro Lights for 15yrs. I got the EGO-C kit and it worked well. Started with a variety of tobacco flavored juices in 36mg - USA Mix, 555, and RY4. Soon found that the 36mg was too strong and decreased to 24mg which was better. I also soon found that while I need strong flavors to stimulate my mouth, there were other flavors that would do the job better than the tobacco. I found Menthol worked well - even though I wasn't a Menthol smoker!
My favorite juice is Strong Coffee and Atomic Blast from the Indy Vapor Store.
I've changed to the Ego Twist and Ego Vision clearomizers.
Slowly, I'm finding what works for me.

Hang in there and try some different things out - you'll find what works for you!

thats what i love about e-cigs. you can quit nicotine, lower it, or just keep vaping at whatever level you want. its great to have options!

Hi Lettucehead - Congrats to you. Great move on your part. I've also have the twist & dearly love my cartos on it. I started w/the attys/tanks & then went to the 'c' - now I basically staying w/clearos & cartos; taste is great & they seem to last a lot longer then the attys or the heads; believe it cost less in the long run.

Thanks so much, moishesmom and potholerepairman!
I have a counter on my iPhone that counts the days, hours, and minutes that I've been analog free - I check it several times and day and watch the time mount up. It helps keep me motivated.

I was hesitant to switch to ecigs because I didn't know if they would work for me and the initial start up costs (likely these were excuses because I just wasn't ready to quit).

My iPhone timer also has a function that lets me see how much money my smoking would have cost me if I had continued. Already I've saved 1/2 of what I've spent on ecigs.

Soon, I'll be saving money - along with my health...

You say you found a flavor you like, its the hardest thing about vaping imo (congrats)Great sign for staying with vaping. So glad you off the bat enjoyed a flavor for so many reasons, it takes me about 10 flavors to like 2 on average.

Hi Repairman...I don't know if you were responding to me, but, it took a while to find, believe me it wasn't easy.....that's what lead me to DIY plus the cost is sooooo much less when you DIY. I have a storage box filled w/ugh!!! All is good now.

That is toooo cool w/your iPhone - I have a daughter that does that for me! This new habit is costing my kid's inheritance since I used to do RYO & that cost practically zilch. That's okay tho, what good is money without your health.
