recharged batterys do they lose charge unused?

I have a couple mods. One latest, the Big Brother, has 2 x 14500's. If I keep 2 charged batts in backup for when the ones in it will lose charge, will the charged ones in backup lose their charge at all, requiring a topping off before installing or are they ready to go?
(say they sit a day or two or even more if i am switching off mods during a day).

A day or two isn't an issue .. even a week should be ok.... typically Li-ions lose charge at a rate of approx 1% per day (unused of course)

Let say I have an 1 year old 2 pairs of 14500 in the rapper (and I do) - should I just tose them or try to re-charge and see what happens?
