Recharging Batterys

It is my understanding that most E-cigs use lithium rechargeable batterys. Many other devices also use lithium rechargeables (LiOn). Cell phones come to mind.

So, question is, after the initial break-in (full charge, then full discharge, then full charge again), is it necessary to run these batterys flat between charges?

I like to keep mine topped off for better vapor and taste. So they may be only 1/3 to 1/2 empty between charges.

I know that NiCads have a memory effect, but I don't believe that lithium batterys have that problem. Nor do NiMh types.

Btw, I have the Joye eGo and a battery will last all day, but seems to lose some of the vapor, TH, and taste after 3 hours or so. So, I top it off maybe twice a day.

Am I harming these batts by charging before they are completely dead? Will it significantly shorten their life span?

Nope.

There is little to no "memory effect" with Li Ion batteries.

Your battery will wear out, but it is from the high discharge currents required to heat the atomizer coil, not from the charging. (Well charging on the proper charger that is.)

Thanks Hoosier. Hopefully I will get the advertised 300 cycles. That should last me 4 to 5 months. Now I feel that maybe I should go ahead and get an extra battery or two. Maybe next week after I have reached the break even point.

OK I'm stupid.. I've bought 8 123 batteries and 6 1040 batteries for my GLV and Janty Stick.. I have been using the Janty Stick as the recharger for one of the 10440 which is fine, but wish I could have a few charged for on the go, and my 123's I just received for my GLV that I got today, same thing with the 123's, On charger and then nothing..

Here's the problem.. There is no way all of these batteries are bad... I just unwrapped the 123's and charged them all up.. I got 3 hits off the GLV with one of the batteries and it died.. Brand new attys so that's not it either..With the 10440's I've tried to charge them on my charger and same with the 123's and they read that they are charged but then when I try to use them, they are dead...

Sooooooooooo.......... How do you charge/drain and then charge the batteries so that they will work??
