Here's one for y'all from a fellow dummie. It doesn't get much simpler than a single flavor. LA Fruit Punch @ 3%. It's a pleasant enuf sorta nondescript fruity sweet flavor. As a matter of fact I'm thinking I'll cut that to 2% next time.
This concentrate surprised me. It's been sitting in the cabinet for at least a year untried. Finally mixed some 2 weeks ago. Put in a tank 2 days ago and just now finally grabbed it and took my first puff of it. I'm a 3% limit kinda guy. I vape a lot of unflavored. First puff was the strongest flavor I've tasted in some time. I would suggest anyone who enjoys fruity flavors get a small sample and give it a try. I think I may try mixing it with my lame LA watermelon.

I love this thread!

Unfortunately, it seems I don't have many simple recipes in my collection that aren't already from ECF members, but I'll share a couple of things, anyway.

The first is one of my everyday vapes, and while not as simple as 3 ingredients, it has some ingredients that many people are likely to have on hand anyway, so I'll cheat and toss it in. It's a Queenside clone, though it's been too long since I've had Queenside to say how close it is ... but I don't care about the "clone-iness" of it, I just love this as its own thing!:

Five Pawns Queenside Spot On (by voodootroll)

4% Blood Orange (FW)
3% French Vanilla (CAP)
3% Orange Cream (TPA)
10% Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)
0.2% Vanillin 10% (TPA)

I think the FW Blood Orange is key in this recipe, rather than a substitute orange flavor, and worth it to have in your stash if you like orange / citrus flavors. Voodootroll says "queenside spot on clone needs a 20 day steep time. Vanillin is optional but rounds up the flavor."

Now, I made two bottles, one with Welsh Custard by Chef's Vapour instead of Capella Vanilla Custard, because I've found Welsh Custard vapes fine without steeping, and I wanted to try this recipe right away. The other bottle I made with Capella and set it aside for steeping. They are both great, and I can't tell much difference between them now they've both steeped for quite a while, but I was able to skip the steeping using the Welsh Custard.

The next is one of the first things I ever mixed up when I first started diy with only a few flavors, and I've just gone digging through my old notes to find it. I call it "Meltaway Mint," super simple with only two ingredients, and though I've gone on to much more complicated mint cream recipes, they don't seem as amazing to me as this did when I first started experimenting. I'm going to make some today and see how it strikes me now. :)

Meltaway Mint

7% Mint Candy (TPA)
5% Sweet Cream (TPA)

There's obviously some room to add a little vanilla in there, too! This can shake and vape, but is better after some steeping.

Finally, here's something I read on Reddit, about making any fruit flavor plus TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, just the two ingredients:

VBIC: "This flavor when added in small amounts 0.5-2% contributes a smooth and creamy back note to any fruit or pastry mix with a hint of vanilla at 1.5%+. However 3% and onward gives the faint impression of actually tasting a complete Vanilla Bean Ice Cream flavor.

Now to why you should care about this and how to use it, like I said it's complimentary between 0.5-2% however the magic number I have found to be at 4% if you mix TFA's VBIC with ANY single fruit flavoring at 4% using a low-medium amount of that fruit flavoring (varying strengths with different fruit flavors and such) you will create something delicious guaranteed. If you don't feel free to leave a comment or PM me and I'll tell you what you are doing wrong because I have tried this combination with pretty much fruit you can think of and then some and it's absolutely delicious but more importantly it's delicious right away it's Shake n Vape.
"

written by DuskMS in this reddit post (bolding mine). Here is DuskMS' example recipe:

S&C Shakeroo
  • 4% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
  • 6% TFA Strawberry (Ripe)
___________

Thank you all for sharing your recipes; I have so many I want to try from this thread!

Easy "menthol" i like and keep around all the time is:

I like menthol in most my concoctions.
I had a taste once of a sales sample someone left at a brick & mortar; Nirvana, euphoria inducing. After some real hunting I recalled the brand name and found where to get it. For this, I'd be willing to pay someone!
What I got was crap. :(
So I set off to replicate it. Haven't gotten there but what did come of the effort was an ADV I can take to work for a week and very simple.
Adjust all to taste, but I keep the last, peppermint very slight by comparison to the other flavors.
All TFA
Wintergreen 2%
Spearmint 2%
Peppermint 0.5-1%
Menthol 2%

I use my own menthol dissolved in alcohol, that gives me throat hit I sometimes need. And I move the percentages around
My ADV has been this:

Orange Cream 7%
Strawberry 5%
Pineapple 3%

All TFA

Easy "menthol" i like and keep around all the time i

@tazzle, thanks for sharing this recipe. I have been chasing a great orange cream mix for over a year now. I have 2 that I like enough using a combination of FA Orange, TFA Mandarin Orange, and CAP Orange Creamsicle as the fruit stars. Ironically, I recently did some research on Reddit and subsequently purchased a bottle of FW Blood Orange. Now, no need to create my own recipe.

Great idea using the CF Welsh Custard. Did you use it at the same 10% as the CAP VC? I can see CAP VC at 10% needing every moment of a 20 day steep to settle and blend. I'm going to mix with the Welsh Custard. Thanks again for the post and additional mixing notes!

Have you tried the Nice Custard Cream from CF? I have mixed it solo @23% as recommended by CF and I love it. I think I am going to mix one batch of the Queenside Clone with the WC and one batch with the NCC.

    Somewhere between here and there
After hearing people on this thread talk about Real Flavors, I went ahead and put in an order for a few to try. I've been experimenting with a strawberry lemonade recipe but haven't gotten it quite right yet. I saw RF had a strawberry lemonade so I got that. It says on the website to only use up to 2.5%. Is that correct?

I'mnotZak, embarrassingly, I didn't note it. However, if I acted true to form (and I usually do), I would have doubled the amount in the recipe, because the typical stand alone percentage for Capella Vanilla Custard is around 10%, and for Welsh Custard it's 20%. I'm kind of stunned that I didn't record it. gah.

I have not tried their Nice Custard Cream yet! I do have their ABC (Another Bloody Custard) and haven't mixed that one up yet, so I'm running behind with the custards. I'm having bottle issues: a) they cover every surface in my domicile like a relentless alien virus, b) I'm running out of them to try new mixes.

It depends on the flavor so you will want to do some small sized tests. They used to suggest 1 - 3.5% for the super concentrates. I test all my flavors in the 1 - 2.5% range based on what I can find for percentage suggestions from other users but I usually end up mixing recipes or single flavor batches at 3.5%.

Thanks Fozzy. I wonder how long it will take to get them. I ordered yesterday but haven't seen a shipping confirmation yet. However, they are probably really busy with the easter sale.
They usually ship the next business day but with the sale and possibly being closed for good Friday you likely won't see a ship notice until Mon or Tues.

My recommendation. It is really great as a standalone at around 23%.

I'm laughing... Be careful, there is no known cure for that virus.

Vapemail ! Tonight we begin to explore....
I think I'll start with 10% Chocolate Covered Donut and 5% Bavarian Cream.

This truly is a home for DIY dummies like me...
    So I am sitting here with a legal pad and a pen jotting down the concoctions I have mixed this weekend (I don't put them in the ejuice-me-up until I know I like them) when I find that I have mixed this before, and liked it ;

    Eclair
Chocolate Glazed Donut (CAP) - 10%
DX Bavarian Cream (TFA) - 5%

I even drew a 'Star' on my legal pad next to this recipe, so I must have really liked it

You referenced this somewhere else and I tracked it down on ELR, made it a favorite, and adapted it like this:
-swapped 4% TFA French Vanilla Crème for 3% CAP French Vanilla
-swapped 4% INW Custard for 10% CAP Vanilla Custard v1

That INW Custard is powerful stuff, but I'm pretty sure I got the adjustment right. I mixed it more than a month ago, and just sampled it tonight. I've never tasted the real Queenside, but this is pure creamy vanilla orange deliciousness.

Thanks for bringing this one up, tazzle, and for your tip on FW Blood Orange. I haven't even tasted my tester bottle of that yet, but I can tell it makes its mark in this recipe. I'll be sure to leave a note on voodootroll's ELR entry too!

This one took over as my ADV, it was betelgeuse prior to this one. This is one of Kodak's recipes, she's given permission to re-post it.

    Iced Lemon Cookie

5% FA Lemon Sicily (I used INW since twice when I went to order lemon sicily they were out)
    3% FA Cookie
    2% FA Vienna Cream
.5% Sweetner ( I use sucralose). I often leave out the sweetner, after I make it once according to the recipe, but with this I found that the sweetner actually does bring out the icing/glaze more. I taste like a powdered sugar glaze. YMMV of course.

Shake and Vape. In fact I've been told that the lemon can fade a bit if it's awhile before you use it all. I don't think it will ever sit around long enough for me to find out.
    Omg so good can't stop
