I totally agree with you. I have tried replacing the coil and it didn't help - AT ALL. Granted I have not gone through all of the multiple tips to stop spitback… I can just buy a new atomizer for my Istick, but my Istick has been through the ringer, and I was nervous I would just run into spitback again...
A different tank may not solve your spit back issues. It's usually caused by user error. I suggest that you go through the multiple tips in the video I posted, and the excellent links supplied by @BrotherBob .

Your stipulations are reasonable for everything but the price. Look at all the money you've saved on cigarettes and ask yourself why you feel the need to pinch pennies on equipment.

Reminds me of a story about Jake and James, who are both starting new jobs in a yard.
Jake has budgeted only $30 for boots. They look great when they're new, but they don't keep out the wet and they fall apart in six months. James spends $300 on top quality boots that keep his feet warm and dry and last for years. Jake scoffs at James for wasting money on a needless extravagance. When Jake's boots wear out he can easily buy a shiny new pair. At the end of six years Jake has gone through a dozen pairs of boots and been in constant discomfort. But James spent less overall and has had warm, toasty feet throughout.

Lol. Shoes are the one of the few things where I don't pinching pennies. As far as my stipulations being reasonable but not equal to my wallet - that is in part due to my naivety in regards to the VAPE world and in part due to the fact that I just do not have extra cash in my life to buy exactly what I want.

Yeah... I agree. If I decide to buy a replacement tank for my Eleaf, I will be more disciplined about following ALL of the recommendations.

Kits ya know kits are a bit....problematic. Sure it can be a way to go for a newbie vaper and sometimes good deals can be had, but...ya might like the mod and hate the tank or coils. Ya might love the tank but hate the mod.

If you view both components separately...get some advice for a tank that suits your vaping style and the tank and coils have good reviews on here. Try it on your old beat up istick and see if you like it. If you do and all's well and then you can look for a new mod to go with it if you so choose.

Hint for a well reviewed tank and coils..Zenith or Zlide.

I would look at the OBS Cube series you have the Mini, Cube 5-80w internal 3000 battery and Cube X 5-80w external 18650 battery. They really are great kits, simple to use, great tank, coils last well, fits nicely in the hand and looks great. The internal battery on the regular cube lasts forever. I'd buy the Mod only and get an Innokin Zlide Tank for MTL.

My other suggestion my wife uses the Innokin Adept kit, I must say this is one of, if not the best MTL kits out there around $43. She is suggesting I buy my own so I don't use hers!

Great suggestion actually for a kit. The Innoken Adept kit with Zlide tank and for a good price too.

MTL vs DTL is personal preference, and I used to be a major proponent of MTL tanks because I figured vaping at a lower wattage, and inhaling less vapor would be atleast a little safer. However recently I upgraded to a newer device and a newer tank. The TFV12 SMOK tank. The stock coil that comes with it is Kanthal and is rated 40-60w for best performance. Honestly its been off to the races since then and I am by no means a cloud chaser. The flavor is so much more refined with the extra power though. Maybe see if you can try some friends devices with those drip tip condoms and see what you personally enjoy better, dont get me wrong though im still a fan of my Kabuki tank because it uses the Aspire Nautilus coils and those absolutely changed the game for me. Very easy to find cheap to buy and runs best around 12.5w but the Kabuki tank is WAY better than the actual Aspire Nautilus in every aspect except juice capacity. You can get a clone Kabuki for around 15$ with shipping. Try it out! (the nickel aspire triton mini coils work a dream for temp control too if thats something you would be interested in)

    goodbye
These are two kits that I am familiar with and like quite a bit. I have 14 mods and still like and use these two. They were also my first two real mods.

    1. The Innokin Coolfire Mini w/ Zenith D22 Tank. It is mouth to lung and I vape it at 18 watts. Goes up to 40 watts, and down to 6 watts. 1300mAh internal battery. Has adjustable airflow, is top fill, does 70/30 just fine, good taste, and is just a nice little starter kit.

    2. The Aspire Zelos w/ Nautilus 2s Tank. It can be used mouth to lung or restricted direct to lung. I vape it at 25 watts. Goes up to 50 watts, and down to 1 watt. 2500mAh internal battery. Has adjustable airflow, is top fill, does 70/30 just fine, good taste, and is also a great starter kit.
