Tonight I set my mom up with my kgo vv and a clearomizer because that was what I had in my spares that seemed like a relatively good set up for her to try out for a couple days. For the 6 hours I was there she didn't have a single cigarette. She tells me she isn't looking to quit, probably because she relies so heavily on analogs and it's kind of a scary thing for her. It was probably a good sign that when I was leaving she had the kgo in her pocket, holster style ready to vape.

My mom isn't completely new to vaping, as she tried a pure smoke kit for about a month and loved it until she started getting dead cartridges and realized she had to replace the atomizer pretty often.

What would you recommend I start her on that's relatively hassle free but still provides a good vape? She will not be one to refill cartos that's for sure, which is why I let her try out the clearo. She smokes Marlboro lights, probably about 1.5 PAD at the most.

Also if you recommend a kit of some kind can you please provide a Site? At the moment I'm leaning towards ego style batteries because that's what I started on and enjoyed them.

I recommend the KGO starter kit from Hoosiers. They aren't variable voltage. I don't think it's necessary for someone new and think it's kind of nice to keep it simple. Here is a link to their starter kits. KGO kit1100mAh by SLB And since you say she can't refill cartomizers, I recommend the Vision Clearomizers for newbs even though I don't usually use them for myself, but they are easier to handle. Here's a link for them also. EGO Vision clearomizers LR 2.1-2.4ohm Brent at Hoosier is a great guy. If you order from him, could you please mention in the comments box that South Florida Vapers referred you to him, please. He has helped donate alot to our group because I usually recommend his KGO's to people just starting out because I really do think they are good for people new to vaping, plus the KGO batteries are a little bit more powerful than the EGO batteries are. He'll treat you right :) I hope your mom gets off the cigs and likes vaping.

Edit: I know this might fly in the face of popular opinion here, but here it goes!

I'm a newbie/veteren. Started a long time ago, got back on analogs, now back to vaping. I'm jumping from device to device, and I am AMAZED at the Smokeless Image cig-style Volt. The pre-filled cartos even tasted good on an their automatic style. Take into account I'm also using an eGo Twist, Elips (my M-F take to work PV), iTaste, and I have a VMOD 2.0 and a Provari on the way. If I had to think to myself which would balance hassle-free between a good vape, the Volt would be it (with pre-filled cartos). Also, nothing beats the feel and auto drag of an analog. They have various starter kits:

Depending on how much I use my VMOD, I might be picking up more Volts for convenience.

I agree with Miamimom above. The kgo 1100mah is reasonably priced and works well with a vivi nova tank -fill and go is my motto. I hate dealing with cartos too. Hoosier is fast and reliable. They do need cleaning but it is simple to wash and dryburn. I have had probs with the clearomizers but some love them. Whatever you get make it rebuildable so you only need to replace the heads.

Hi

I guess the hardest part about your scenario is what do you think your Mom's "fuss factor" will be? Short of buying pre-filled cartos - not exactly the best experience with limited options - all of these setups require a certain about of fussing to keep going.

For example, call me weird but I just don't like cartos. (GASP!) Don 't like refilling them, don't like the short life span, lotto vapor - but I get no flavor off them. I could suggest an eGo setup using eGO MEGA cylinder attys for your Mom. The carts are huge and hold up to 2.5 ml's of liquid. And I get months of use out of these attys. But even a setup like this is gonna require dripping liquid into that cartridge every few hours. And to keep the attys working really well they do require occasional cleaning. (But you could do that for your Mium, right?) On the cheap, since you already have eGo batteries you could just buy an eGo MEGA cylinder atty and a box of carts to see what her response to that setup is. This would be one of the least fussy options I can think of.

Don't forget to mention to Mom that even if attys or other hardware require replacement it will never equal the amount of moola it costs to smoke.
