Hi all, it's been awhile for me. I've been using an ego like battery with a rebuildable ego vision cartomizer since last May. While its rebuildable I have not gotten into replacing parts. The other day I went to reorder cartomizers to find they can no longer be ordered. I have only ever ordered from one place and I am at a loss for what to top my batteries with. I am looking for something really easy to use. If this is the wrong place to post, please move. I wasn't sure where to post since I still feel new but am not new.

Google search for ego vision cartomizer took me to clearomizer instead.
Is this what they look like? If so, they seem to be still around. Certainly the generic CE4 versions should still be around.
Vision Ego Clearomizer V2.0

Some of us enjoy trying new stuff, but no reason to get pushed into more complicated gear if you prefer to stay with what you know and like.

we've been getting friends to "start" on the istick 30watt (it's not much more than the 20 watt and when they're ready for a rebuildable like Kayfun or whatever it'll run it fine) (MVP 3.0 would be great too the istick's just smaller and fits in the hand well)

Kanger Mega or aerotank V2 for the tanks
you can just as easily get an Aspire Nautilus or Mini Nautilus as well (for non rebuildable tanks)

if you feel you're ready to move up to a rebuildable and have done your reading and are aware of the safety concerns....I like the Kayfun V4.

Hi Sara :)

I finally climbed aboard the iStick train about 6-7 weeks ago. I grabbed the 50W, not necessarily for the power, but for the battery life. I'd been using VV3s and MVP2s most of last year, but I was charging the MVP daily or the VV3s multiple times a day. I liked the 50W so much I grabbed a 30W, and I love it for its size. It's not much larger than the VV3, but compared to the MVP or my iPV Mini, it weighs nothing!

Tanks - ooh-wee - that's a tough one. I haven't tried very many. I started with a bunch of EVOD tanks and then "graduated" to ProTank 2s (the heads are the same). That's all "old tech" now :D

I have a couple Nautilus (Full and Mini) tanks that are nice. Resurrected them recently after a long hiatus. I had a good few days run with them, but now they're acting a bit weird on me (I'm thinking my VG level in my juice is too high for those tanks :p) They have a tighter draw (which can be tweaked with the airflow controller) which may be more reminiscent of your cartos. I also have a couple of Kanger Subtanks (Mini and Nano) which have a very airy draw. Simplicity - I like the Nauti and the Subtanks because I can just drop in a coil and go. I can rewick and/or rebuild the Kanger OCCs.

I hear lots of talk about the Melo or the GS Air, but I've never tried either of these. The Melo is a sub-ohm tank; the GS Air uses a 1.5 ohm coil (I believe).

HTH

Wow!! That certainly looks like what I have been using. I'm confused as to why some refer to those as clearomizers and others cartomizers. Surely they are two different things? Thank you so much. :)

Yes cartomizers and clearomizers are 2 very different things, if you have been using the clearos and are happy with them. I would look at the aerotank mini or the protank mini, they are both clearomizers but with bottom coils vers the top coils like you currently use. The heads are easy to find and they are fairly cheap to buy

Do some reading on the REO forum:

Reos Mods

I've been using REO's for over 4 years, and they're about as simple to maintain as I could ask for. An occasional bath and a dab of Noalox or Deoxit on the firing pin is all they require. They can use anything from unsealed 510 cartomizers and atomizers to RBA's. I've been using rebuildable atty's on mine since they became available - I wind a new coil every 4-6 weeks, and replace the cotton wick every couple days.

If you are happy with your power supply (batteries)and are just looking for a new topper, may I suggest the SMOKtech ARO SMOKtech ARO II eGo Bottom Coil : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more I know a lot of folks would consider them outdated technology but I love them and at $4.25 each I love the price. They use the same coils as the evods and protanks so are easy to buy and rebuild if you decide to go that route. I didn't think I would ever get into rebuilding but I did and found out it was super easy to do. HTH

PS: they look great on ego style batteries. :D

Been re-building Protank II's for months now. Just got plenty of coils which i re-build with kanthal and silica. Any regulated tube mod fires up a Protank II. Vamo's are cheap !. A couple of decent IMR batteries work great in a Vamo. This is a setup for mouth to lung and vapes best at 4.5v (8 watts) with a 2.5 ohm coil.

Don't be afraid to try a rebuildables. Coil building isn't difficult, and it opens up an entire world of options, not to mention being a great hobby for many of us here. As with Rixsta's comment about lung hits, once you try the vape that a rebuildable can give you, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
