So, I have a RN4081 and a DSE801.

I've been wanting to get into the world of mods, dripping, manual batteries, LR atty's, and shiny metal.

The problem is, I'm low on cash.

I was looking at an eGo 650mah kit, the Riva, and the VorteX from e-liquid Planet.

I realize these aren't really mods, and I feel like I'd be getting more out of a mod.

I had a chance to try out a LR atty on an eGo, and I loved it!

I tried an eGo-T and all it did was put out some bad vapor and burn.

Any affordable recommendations?

Depends on your definition of affordable and how low you are on cash. It sounds like your wanting a stylish shiny mod and for that you'll probably have to up the price a little. if all your looking for is a good performing mod that's built tuff at a good price check out the Roughstack or Maxi Roughstack.

They aren't the prettiest mods but they preform well, are very durable and have a user replaceable switch if that should ever be an issue.

Doesn't look too bad at all lol.

I'm kinda low in a sense that I'd like to have a mod (I'd guess a 5v or so), a drip tip, a LR atty/HV atty for under $75 or so.

What else ya got for me?

Try the classified section here on ECF. If you want new you might try a bottom feeder. Old Goat Mods on ECF has the best prices I'm aware of. It's not a GLV3 but it fits a tight budget - $30 or so. Ron (Old Goat) shipped to me fast and provided answers to my noob questions without irritation. Mod worked perfect. You're entering a new phase of vaping. Beware. Mods are almost as addictive as nicotine.

I suggest upping the ante a bit and getting the Icon from pure smoker the full kit is just a bit more then your price point but you won't need to buy another. Love mine!

I think the prodigy is almost the same price and you can use 3.7v or 6v on that. Just throwing that out there :D

I too was looking to get into mods and I've finally come across one for an awesome price. I've decided to purchase a Bauway 510-N from electronicstix for a awesome $40.00 ...
I haven't received the 510-N yet, but when I do, I'll definitely let you know how it goes.

Whatever you end up going with, good luck!

Well I'm not sure to what extent liberty flights' range is standardized between their US & UK stores but if the US one is doing e-cig city mods like the version in my neck of the woods then the Little Gem looks like a great little entry to the mod world with loads of features that give it the flexibility to probably outlast its initial role. They're going for about £35 sterling here which is well under $60 US at current exchange rates. Probably not worth it if they have to ship from Blighty though but I thought it couldn't hurt to note it :) Apologies OP if you think this post wasted your time.
