Recommendation for a DURABLE VW/VV Device..

Hello all:

I am currently looking for a solid, durable VW/VV device for my wife... She has had the Vamo V5, and after dropping it one too many time, the top-right button is permanently pushed in... She is currently using the Lavatube 2.5, and while it is working good for her, its a bit on the beefier side for her, and its a pain to have to use a 510-Ego adapter for her Evods (she prefers those clearomisers as of right now).. I plan on picking up an Aerotank mega for her, but I know she will still use the Evods from time to time.. The Lavatube has proven to be quite durable as she has dropped it many times and it still works as it did new...

1) Must be VV/VW... She keeps the Lavatube set to voltage, but would like her to have the option of VW as well. A range of 3.0- 6.0 volts and 5.0-15.0 watts is fine, she has no need for a dna 20 (unless it meets my other criteria below.)

2) Must be an 18650 "tube" mod.. She hates box mod type devices, and will not use one. She only has 18650 batteries, and that's all she wants to use.

3) Must have 510 & Ego threading.. She likes her Evods, but will also use a 510 tank when she needs to..

4) Costs no more than $120.. That is our price point right now, and she would KILL me if I spent any more than that.

5) MOST IMPORTANT.. MUST BE DURABLE!!!.. She needs a device that will stand up to being constantly dropped.. My wife tends to be very clumsy with e-cigs, so the device must be very durable (no so much with the finish, but the build must be tough).

6) No Mechs.. She likes my Nemesis clone, but I would need to add a Kick to give her VW/VV, but she likes to constantly change her voltage settings during the day, and having to open the device to set the Kick every time would drive her (and thus me) bonkers..

Right now I am looking at The Spire from Beyond Vapes, (it has received high ratings from the like of Grimm Green and Phil Busardo) as its smaller than her Lavatube and it has a very nice design/look (she prefers the gunmetal finish if I do end up getting her this one.) But if anyone has another suggestion I'm all ears, as long as it conforms to the criteria above, the MOST IMPORTANT one being the durability.

Thanks in advance...

From what I've heard the Spire uses the same board as the Zmax. Looks like a nicer tube, but then it's twice the price. As far as I'm concerned, if you really want durable, you by ProVari. No one else has the same track record. At least not yet.

I was gonna say that or a MVP2. But,,,,criteria #2 and #4 rule both of those out.

No Variable wattage but if you want durable there is, IMHO, only one game in town. Provape Provari with the 18650 battery cap.

When I bought mine I also bought the 18650 battery cap and used like that for a couple of weeks until I got some 18490 batteries. I now use it with the 18490's and it lasts me a full day.

Hmm -- last week you could have purchased a clearance provari direct from Provape for a mere $10 more, free shipping. Granted, it would have cost a bit more for the 18650 extension cap.....but you could have called that an accessory. :)

There is no other mod with such a fantastic reputation for being a rugged and consistent regulated vaping machine.

Getting verified and shopping the classies can provide some opportunities too.

Or, buy 4 Vamo's or 3 Zmax's etc......

Personally I would just save up a little more money and get her a Provari. In the long run it will save you money because you can send it in for repairs. If she drops her $120 setup and the chipset goes south.....your paying another $120:)

What better way to say you love her than getting her Gun Metal Zenkote Provari:D

If she doesn't mind packing a 2lb+ mod, the e-lvt is indestructible. Had mine for close to a week now. Have an 18650 Panasonic 3100mah battery in it, it's dead accurate on single and dual coil resistance measurements, can do 3-6v or wattage which I don't care about. Can drive a truck over it. Has a flashlight.
Oh, and it can accept ego and 510 style tanks and cartos. The 18650 is replaceable, and can be charged in the unit, or out.
Also, you can vape from the unit while charging it at the same time!

Actually if she's wanting durable a Provari is best. I'm not sure if they still have some Blems left in their clearance section but they had several a few days ago for $130. Add an extension cap and it will fit an 18650 battery. I have 3 ProVaris. These are the best VV mods out there. They come with a years warranty. Plus... After that year is up they will still repair it for a cost. Much cheaper than buying a new one if it were to tear up.

Ps: The Blems are nothing you can really see. These Blems have either a small paint color difference or a slight Blemish unnoticeable with the naked eye.

If she could get over that, hell yeah, I love mine, I dropped it today on a concrete floor and shattered a tank, but the mod doesn't even have a scuff.

My recommendations are to get her both a Provari and an iTazte V3.

For solid and durable, I agree with the other posters who recommend that you get her a Provi, altho it will be quite a bit beefier than a Lavatube.

1. If you want a device with 510 and eGo threading, I would abstolutely recommend an iTazte V3. It is not an 18650, but does meet some of your (her) other requirements. And it's under 30 bucks. It is VV/VW. If she is sincerely stuck on 18650 batts, then we're back to a Provi.

2. The Provi is a tube mod and so is the iTazte.

3. The iTazte has both threads.

4. The cost is doable for a used Provi. (iTaste $$$ mentioned above)

5. Provi Provi Provi. I have a friend who is ummm... a bit clumsy, so I'm quite familiar with this need.

6. Mechs, meh.

The Spire looks promising. Have you looked at the Evic?

Sigelei 20W and 30W both are 18650 tube mods. They get good reviews.
I highly recommend the Sigelei 20w but it is VW only, you will never go back to VV again.
Mine has been dropped on every surface you can think of (concrete ,gravel, wood floors) and tumbled out of big trucks, and still works like the day I got it.
You can pick them up online for about $85.00 :2c:
