Cool fire 4 or istick 30w?

I skipped over the 30w iStick but would have been interested in the 40w model now seen with temp control for only $30 over the 30w and likely wouldn't have ended up with three of the 50w models if the MVP 3.0 Pro had been out just a bit sooner then later. Now the 100w dual 18650 iStick is seen for only $30 as well.

A great deal of the difference felt when switching between the brands has to do with the output from each as far as the amperage as well as whether in 0.1 or 0.5w increments. When adjusting the wattages here on the various mods it will depend on which tank is on which one! For the Nautilus that will be 1 full watt up or down at a time while the sub ohm tanks will be seeing a full 5w change depending on which ejuice goes into the tank.

Most are set for either 20w or 25w on average for the Atlantis, iSub, and Herakles tanks. The FreeMax may be seen at 35 or all the way to 70w at times on the 150w mod again depending on what goes into the tank! I still run the 20w iSticks having one at the pc desk as well as a few 15w and 20w Vamo types plus the various 50watters which seem to fare well with the extra battery time as well as how well they are constructed over the lower wattage models which many end up having complaints about!

Lately I have been seeing some bargains with the 40w model iStick which features Temp Control not seen with either the Cool Fire or 30w iStick and certainly not even with the 50w while I have three of those! I've also seen the new 100w dual 18650 iStick priced dirt cheap as well but rather lean towards single 18650 battery type box mods if not the long life sealed battery type.(iStick 50w, MVP 3.0 Pro 60w)

If the Cool Fire had been out while first shopping for mods over 20w in size that would have been seen in the collection here as well as the 40w iStick now seen with the temp control feature. However I simply skipped the 30w iStick while waiting for the 50w model now having three of those! The new iStick 40w model with temp control however would be one to consider in that range.

As of late I have been focusing here on the new higher wattage capable sub ohms tanks instead of mod shopping. The FreeMax for example vapes well on a 150w mod at 60w as the Atlantis does at 25-30w. The Herakles is an ok tank for a sub ohm while the pair of the new Triton tanks saw one have a bad day! Suddenly that saw smoke! as the cotton in the coil burned! Apparently the seal on the tank let go and was showing 2.1ohm for a 0.4ohm coil! When swapped and cleaned up inside the inside the tank still cooked the next Atlantis 0.5ohm coil with the 2.4ohm reading! Not a good day for Aspire for sure! :(

I really liked the iStick 50W. It was display failures on both of mine that led me to try the Cool Fire 4. I'm sold on the Cool Fire 4 at this point, but I'd still like to have a reliable dual battery mod like the iStick just to keep from having to charge daily. I could go almost two days on the iStick 50W. It's a shame that both of them failed with dark LCD displays after a few weeks.

My Cool Fire 4 is about three months old and going strong. It's been knocked over on the table countless times (Kayfuns make it top heavy). I knocked it off the kitchen counter a couple of days ago and it quit working. I was ready to go buy something else and before I did I tried turning it off and back on. That fixed it. I think the fall pushed the power switch slightly toward the off position. So, it really wasn't broke. The fall moved the power switch slightly.

DROPSIES! OOPS! You can't be clumsy with this stuff and expect it to last! When I heard the complaints about the first 20w iStick and here I am now keeping one of the two always turned on and on the computer desk without one issue besides the Bending Adapter spring popping out and getting lost somewhere those two plus the 50Ws have been going well all this time!

Sorry hear the displays went out on yours however! :( That's a let down for sure since the battery life on the 50s seems to outlast everything when run at 20w! I compared the MVP 3.0 Pro at 25w with the 4500mah battery and the 4400 in the 50w also running at 25w and guess which one needed the recharge first? The MVP! Yet there's no complaint at all but the MVP is always a bit taller and not so convenient for things like stealth vaping on an elevator or simply being discrete when necessary.

I think maybe the IVs will be good gifts for a few people this year along with a good tank tossed on top of each to get some friends to start vaping again. So far nothing negative in the wind about them! They haven't tried anything more then cig alikes, a couple trying out the disposables I had someone pick up one day to start off with and then the eGo type batteries came in later but nothing since. Now that the tanks have as a rule seen tremendous improvements over the last year as well as the sub ohms I think I can them a bit motivated since the early stuff didn't cut it!

I get daily mailings from VapingCheap with all sorts of buys from everywhere! The Labor day sales are still on now so expect to be seeing the discounts! Anyone for a ??? iStick 40w with temp control for $25.99? Have to use the coupon code you get from Vaping Cheap however since they review the mods. Eleaf iStick 40w TC $25.99 | Vaping Cheap

As for battery time I seem to have seen more with the 50watter however then with the MVP Pro 3.0 60w model. Innokin put that out with the 10w more and 100mah additional battery time to compete with the iStick there. The Pro however is still a nice item to have! :D

They've been having some deals on Sigelei lately you might be interested in but for the heavier stuff like 100w or more. The prices on the higher wattage box mods has come down sharply in recent months besides the usual summer clearance sales but overall pricing. You know they want to move this stuff before the new Fall-Pre-holiday, Pre-Black Friday shopping season gets going. Everyone looks forward to Black Friday and Holiday discounts.

The 50w model is actually quite a nice addition to the collection being run generally at about 20w. Just because it puts out more doesn't mean you can't run it at lower points. And you get far more battery time with that at 20w then you will ever see with a 2000-2200-2600mah battery size on a 30w even 40w mod! iSmoka put more into the 50Ws until the new 40w with temp control came in with that still only seeing the 2600mah battery however.

For the 75w and 100w Sigelei expect to find those pricing about $60 and up. The discounts seen at Vaping Cheap are when using their coupon codes when arriving at the vendors. For under $30 however I don't see any problem with the CF IV 40w there. I was looking at those for myself here but had already spend on the iSticks and then had heard about the 3.0 Pro coming out in a week or so.

Hey c3scott Speaking about Sigelei here's a VD special on a 30w mini now posted. Sigelei Mini 30W $25.74 | Best Vape Deals

Being subscribed I get daily emails in from Vaping Deals 7 days a week. It's mostly a lot of RDAs and mechs but every so often they have something of interest to look over. :D

I know this is an old post but I really wanted to post. I used to have an istick 30w. I have learned that the isticks are cheap for a reason. I bought mine in feb. In august the buttons started sticking and then eventually it just stopped working all together. I had heard similar stories when I bought it and I wish i had listened. I wouldn't trust any mod by eleaf. I just recently got me a Cool Fire 4. I already own an Itaste VV. I use an aerotank mini on that. I use my sub-tank mini on my Cool Fire 4. I used to use it on my Istick 30w before it went out. So far no problems from my Cool Fire. I like that it actually has air vents in the side of the mod to help keep it from overheating. Sure I only paid 39 for this. But Innoken is well known for their safety and their products durability. Just look at the MVPs. The Cool Fire also has another feature I really like. In addition to their usual click 3 times to unlock and lock the fire button, it also features an on/off switch at the bottom. So no worries of accidental firing when it is in the pocket. It also comes with an adapter that lets me use tanks like the aerotank mini on it. Something I couldn't do with my istick 30w. So far on battery life I'd rank it about the same as the istick 30w. I vape at about 18 watts and I get a good days worth before It is going yellow and I need to charge it. Though I'd say even at that point I could probably get almost another day out of it or half a day at the least. Though I prefer to just charge it at that point. My advice to anyone considering any of the isticks is to just not get it at all. It's just not worth it. If you must go cheap, like how I had to, consider either the Cool Fire 4 or the Disrupter. I haven't gotten that one yet but so far I have just heard good things about it. The only reason I didn't get it is because I was worried about how the slide rails and stuff would hold up in my pocket at work.

If you find a usb port on the bottom then you will know what the on/off switch is for. Innokin has a habit of providing usb ports on their box mods to allow for charging other devices when on the go!

As for iSticks I suspect rough handling is the primary reason people are having problems with them to start with. While not the best made anything I still have the first two 20w and a single 10w mini models still in regular use here as well as carrying one of the 50w on me whenever I go out! I also have the MVP 2.0, 20W, and latest 60W 3.0 Pro as well as four VV v3.0s all in working order! I got the four v3.0s back in 2013 and still see all four working!

In addition to that I have other 50w models including a ZNA 50 and even a 150w Luxyoun wooden box mod while I will passing over the iStick 40w with temp control to see what comes new from Innokin around Black Friday since I am more or less stocked up on mods! The Innokin line up will be the focus this time around as I didn't care for the 100w dual i8650 iStick at all. This year however I won't be upgrading things as I was last year about this time while still keeping a watch for new tanks that can handle wattages.

I like the size of the CoolFire IV while I hope Innokin comes out with one about 50-60w in a "V" version.
