I have been wanting to try this for so long, but was crazy lost with all the options. I read the recommended starter pages, review threads, you name it - was still lost. I saw good reviews for the ego c and thought I'd decided to do that, but was confused about where to buy it and there still seemed to be confusing options. After seeing many positive mentions and reviews for the website Smokeless Image, I went to the site and it seemed very simple. I watched a number of happy youtubers talk about the Volt that Smokeless Image sells, and finally took the plunge with a middle of the road starter kit which arrived yesterday. I also got three 5-packs of sample packs of their prefilled cartomizers so I could try 15 different favors at a very low cost. I am SO HAPPY with my choice! A perfect way to start - no dripping (whatever that is exactly), two simple pieces, zero confusion. I love it and hope this can help another confused soul out there who may have been told that you spend a lot of money before finding something good :)

I have a V2 kit that I bought first (with a 25% discount) and I still use it at work as it's small and convenient. I refill the cartos with my flavor of choice and it works well. I use an eGo at home, in fact I have a pair of the new Twist batteries arriving today. You'll probably graduate to a larger unit with more "horsepower" but the Volt will always be a handy spare...

gypsygirl, save your cartomizers....don't throw them away. You can refill them many, many times with your own juice. THAT will make it completely affordable, not to mention probably tastier. You should be looking to buy a few small bottles of juice in several different flavors. Then when your cartomizers run dry, you can re-fill them with your own juice.

Good luck with vaping....isn't it FUN??? And welcome to the forums.

Thank you for the welcomes! I'm very excited to finally be starting and love that there's this supportive community. And for the advice. I had no idea that I could refill prefills. Probably with the same flavor though, right? How do you know if it's empty (haven't gotten that far yet)? Just no flavor? Am I damaging something if it's empty and I don't know right away? Should I only use cartomizers from Smokeless Image (they do have empty ones) or does any kind work?

It IS fun, and I'm really excited about trying the flavors people seem to love so much. But I definitely don't regret starting this way and keeping it simple rather than staying frozen with uncertainty. I imagine even when I do "graduate" to something else, I will always love my first pretty purple volt and keep it around!

You'll get a dry, almost burnt taste from the cartomizer as it gets empty, be sure to remove it as soon as you get to this point. Don't throw them out, you can up-cycle (clean & refill them) later. Once you get a taste for the flavors that you like you can order a bottle or two and refill your cartomizers.

hth & welcome! ;)
