Recommendations for APV Noob

Hi! I've been using eGo style batteries for years now and am finally willing to splurge on a mod or two. Right now I'm using an iTaste VV w/ Kanger Mini Protank 3 using 16mg e-liquid. I'm more or less a complete noob when it comes to APV's, I haven't done much research at all. Recommendations for both the APV and tank setup would be awesome!

Preferences:
Small - I don't want to lug around something that barely fits in my pocket
tank or liquid feed - I really do not like dripping... I'm almost always on the go so carrying liquid and opening it up to drip every 3 or so puffs is a pain. Also, I have never attempted to rebuild an atomizer, I normally just buy the ones that come in packs that I can replace.

I recommend the istick 40w tc.
if you want to try temp control, you can.
*no more dry hits with temp control, perfect for a noob i reckon.*
Easy menu system and for the size the battery life is good.
Don't need to think about batteries, because you can't change it.

But you need a tank for this device though. Perhaps the kanger subtank, can't go wrong with that?
You have the option to build your own coils or just buy them.

Or if you don't enjoy the bigger clouds perhaps the nautilus tank. That was the tank i could finally stop with smoking.

Temperature control? Hmm that's a new one! Sounds interesting, I need to look into that. I've only really dealt with variable voltage/wattage (and I still don't quite get it haha).

I don't mind if the clouds are large, as long as the flavor is on point. The Kanger Protank 3 I'm using has good flavor the first few hits of a brand new dual head atomizer, but after that the taste is so so.

I highly recommend a bottom feeder. I just got the Smokless owl and love it. I run mine with a 5-15watt kick module. I would also recommend almost any regulated mod like the Istick 30watt or the Coolfire4 or Sigelei mini.

If you don't want temp control, I like the I stick 50, enough power for most tanks and great battery life. Also just got an IPV D2 and its really small, has lots of power for its size, and does temp control. Using it with a herakles tank w/nickel coils and it's great.
Do you want built in battery or removable? Do you already have batteries and a charger?

You need to understand what's going on before you leap to a mechanical, and all bottom feeder attys require building coils.

I ended up getting a Kanger SUBOX Mini. Seems I could use both replaceable coils with the kanger subtank it comes with and learn how to build my own with the RBA. Also, the price wasn't bad at all!

You need to understand what's going on before you leap to a mechanical, and all bottom feeder attys require building coils.

He says he's never done it .. Not that he wants to avoid it. But then I didn't recomennd an atty at all.. Although If I had it would be rebuildable.. I stand by the squonker suggestion. It fits his request. Yes he would have to learn to Rebuilding. which is easy, unless you are trying to impress people.

There is NO rebuilding required with a mechanical mod. You can run ANY NON TC atty on a mech. Heck I still run a Protank once in a while.

All the mods I suggested will work with any atty that has replaceable coils or coil heads. Except the squonker which will FIRE with a tank atty, it just might not squonker one.

I started with mechanical... Mainly because there wasn't much regulation available when I got my mech. Personally I think starting on a regulated mod is cheating, you don't have to learn what you are doing to use one.

It is better new vapers learn about coil building on mods that are regulated, where the worst that could happen is an error code, rather than a venting...

I would not set this person up with a mechanical bottom feeder based on their admitted level of knowledge and safety.
This is how accidents happen.

And a 40 watt box and subohm tank are a good idea...... There was a day, not long ago, when vaping below 2ohms and above 10 watts was considered CRAZY.

I didn't suggest anything of the sort.

In fact, I didn't suggests any device.

I did suggest NOT jumping into a mechanical bottom feeder without a full understanding of ohm's law, battery safety and building coils.

To use a mechanical bottom feeder correctly, you need to know these things.
