Hey guys. I'm trying to help my mom get off analogs, and I need a recommendation for a good and fairly inexpensive starter kit. I bought her a Halo Triton tank starter kit last Christmas, but she wasn't able to stick with it since it wasn't as satisfying.

I'm looking at the Kanger subox mini starter kit for her currently, but do you think that would be too complicated for her? She probably wouldn't use the .5 ohm coils, but there is a 1.2 ohm coil available. I'm not sure. I build my own coils for my Reo, so I don't have much experience with variable wattage mods.

Any input is appreciated!

I just bought a GS Air M by eleaf and that sucker is great. Smallish, good airflow, great flavor and they hold 4ml. They're only $10 at sweet-vapes as well.

^ that's what I was going to suggest, with an iStick -- maybe 30W or the 40W with TC. Some extra coils.

You can shop for good deals with vapecrawler.com, or go the Deals & Steals thread https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/deals-and-steals.418767/ thread.

There's the Halloween season sale thread. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forums/ecf-suppliers-halloween-specials-2015.923/

Good luck finding something your mother likes.

If she wants something small and easy to work with, I would suggest this with a reliable eGo battery.

If she would be happy with something bigger, the Nautilus is a great tank and you can put it on an eGo or a mod as small as an iStink 20W.

If you go with the type in the 1st link, avoid the Kanger brand. The coils are crap IMHO. The Aspire coils are MUCH better. The have better flavor and make slightly larger clouds. They last about twice as long too.

I would take her to the vape shop first and let her hold a few different mods and see what she likes. Most of them have testers out as well and she can get an idea of what type of tank she would like.

I will say this. Mrs. JC Okie sent my dad an eGrip. That thing wasn't great, but it opened his eyes to vaping. It broke, so he switched to an iStick 50w and an Atlantis sub ohm tank with 0.5 ohm coil. He has been smoke free since March now. On the iStick I set the watts, locked it so he couldn't change the watts and he's been good since with it.

Also, a struggle might be e-juice. My dad HATED flavors. The only reason he stuck to vaping and quit smoking was unflavored and 18mg. Even with the istick 50w. My dad isn't smart with technology by any means, but he learned about his mod quick.

I'd have to agree with you for the most part but for one thing...being new, she may be switching out her juices often and I've found that Kanger coils burn off last tank's juice quite a bit quicker. My Aspire coils seem to white-knuckle the last bit if that previous flavor. :grr: Kanger coils are usually much cheaper as well.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I'm thinking the iStick 40W TC sounds great. That plus perhaps an Aspire Nautilus would probably be right up her alley and in my price range. I tried looking for a GS Air M tank, but they're hard to find even online, and I want her to be able to walk into any B&M to buy her coils.

I'm thinking of buying one for myself with an Aspire Triton tank just to try it out (you know, for science ;)) to see if it would be easy enough for her to use.
