I've been reading a few threads talking about flavor as being different from vapor production, as in : More Vapor doesn't mean More Flavor...

In most polls, people rank flavor as the biggest priority, usually followed by either throat hit or vapor production. Yet almost every review for attys, mods, etc want to talk most about vapor production. Although I loooove letting out a massive fog that fills a room, and video reviews can't convey flavor as well as they can massive clouds of vapor, the idea of flavor seems to get lost.

I feel like I'm particularly effected by flavor, in the sense that I really just don't notice much flavor in any of the juices I've used. I can generally "feel" the sweetness at the back of my throat, a sense of smoothness from things like vanilla, and things like cinnamon/clove/mint/menthol aren't hard to detect... but when people talk about "tons of flavor" or things being really fruity or anything other than what I mentioned above, I just hardly taste it. I've tried swapping flavors, I've tried a lot of different brands... usually the first 3-4 draws I get a really good sense of that flavor, but then it more or less vanishes... and even if I cycle through 3-4 flavors, the original hit of flavor I DO taste never comes back until maybe a day or so away from it. I've been off of cigarettes for a couple months now, and I have noticed my sense of taste has improved with food, so I don't think it's a biological malfunction. I also drink tons of water, so it's not from dehydration. I figure I'm either "immune" to some chemical or aspect used in the flavoring, or I've got my gear set up wrong. I mostly use a vamo with ProTanks, a couple of RDAs and I've tried carto-tanks (which I don't like). the RDAs do alright for flavor, but not a lot better than the ProTank, and the convenience factor is greater than the minor flavor difference.

Are there any recommendations for setups, attys, mods, methods, amount of power used, etc to improve flavor?

In my experience with clearo's only , the atty makes a HUMONGOUS difference.
Another huge factor is the materials used for wick which leads to ability to setup
the voltage which is the number three factor again in my opinion.

I use the Kanger T2 almost exclusively because I LIKE flavor.
It's a tad tricky to rebuild but the results are amazing.

I tried same juice on three devices side by side and T2 won hands down.

The worst was T3 style BCC which was making a lot of vapor but tasteless.
Vivi Nova , AFTER rebuild , was producing vapor , less than T3 but it had taste.
T2 made , again after rebuild , same amount of vapor like the ViVi but flavor was warm and super tasty.

I used wick similar to Golden Greek , see my signature for getting the real deal , and Kanthal 32 AWG for coil.

I am looking forward to try the AGA-T2+ soon and will see how much better that will be compare with I have now :)

I've been eyeing the AGA-T2 as well, for a good starter / learning RBA. I have some RDA octopus and they do ok, and I can rebuild the ProTank, but I'd like to see if a top-coil RBA does any better. I've tried SS on my ProTanks but it's a small space to work in and still taking some practice to get right. I used to use a few different clearos, but really don't like them. I don't know if it's the plastic or the design, but they all taste bad to me, very plasticy, and they seem to get gunked up quickly.

I tend to mix my own juice ... I use a 50/50 nicotine vg/pg mix the pg thins down the juice ... Mix 25% Nic to 25% Flavor (diy flavorshack) 50% VG. I start with a 60 mg pg nic and cut it in half with VG ... the final product is on the lite side of the nic scale (7.5 mg) but that works for me ... I just need a little nic to keep me sane but I really like my flavors.
