Entry #2 RSM Pirate Ship

Left picture first(was suppose to be an oval, but could not figure out how to do so)...

At the very top is a space for an atty, bottle of juice or a cannon atty to resemble a cannon.

The 2 rectangles below are for the RSMs

The 6 rectangles in the middle on the left and right side are spaces for atties/cartos, driptips, tanks, a voltage meter or to lay small juice bottles horizontally to resemble cannons. Or can put a small piece of wood and have it hang off to resemble a plank.

The two circles in the middle of the ship could be for tube mods, or bottles of juice.

The last four circles are for 30ml bottles of juice

The right picture(also suppose to be an oval)...

Is a protection lid, which could be with/out matching holes, to keep everything in place should you knock it over. It could come with it or for an additional charge.

If you chose the lid with out the matching holes you could have Capt' Brian carve you in a slogan for an additional charge.

The one I have on the lid is:

Capt' Brian's RSM
Follow thy Rule OR Yee Shall Walk the Plank
Arghhh!

Entry #3: RSM Sword

Starting from left to right...

The handle: The "wood area" would be made with finger grooves/slots for atties or cartos, OR in case you need to whack some one trying to touch your riches. The finger protector (the yellow/gold extension) has three red slots to resemble either jewls or blood. Could be used for driptips, atties/cartos, but the middle one for a tank.

The Blade: Could be painted grey or not, but the material should be red to resemble blood. The 3 rectangles are for the RSMs and a voltage meter. The four circles are for bottles of juice or tanks.

Could also do a carving on the blade for extra $. The one I had on the blade read: Live by the Sword OR Die by the Sword, which is not ledgible. Since I could not figure out how to upload from google sketch up, instead I had to resort to the camera phone and additional typing.

Now I can finally goto bed.

I know the Pirate ship idea was mine, but decided to use one of the models to fill in some space. Here is what I got. Imagine the side cut outs as cannon hole, with atties, cartos etc holes. Not too deep, you want the ends sticking out like cannons.

NEW entry #3. This is designed for a 5"x8" size, and it will hold all of your immediate needs. I have found that tube mods can vary in size, and they are so tall, they can easily tip over. So there is a trench, curved or flat, on the right to accomodate your favorite tube mod laying down, or keep syringes easily accessible, or just use the trench for whatever you like. The wood mod holes should be a generic size to hold any of the most popular wood mods. The space reserved for a 3xAA boxmod could also be used for misc. items if the owner didn't own a mod of this type. And, this caddy could be executed easily on Paddy's new machine for quicker production. I call it the "The Mod Lover's Caddy"

Rather then making this caddy proprietary to a particular mod or a design that would perhaps not fit with the general public's decor, I wanted to come up with a caddy that would appeal to a very broad range of mod collectors, so Cappy can make more money, arr! Everyone will know it's Cappy's work because it will be branded or engraved as such. We could all keep our favorite mods on display and have all of our favorite vaping neccesities ready to reach for anytime.

Wasnt trying to steal your idea, that was the first thing that came to mind. Hhmm but the cannon idea, I wonder where that idea came from?

My post #36 ;)
I know the pirate ship was open :) My first post of it, I said it would spur more pirate ship ideas. Hey, its a pirate theme, how could great minds not think alike ;p

Although these comments seem to be mainly "tongue-in-cheek" or in jest, this is just ONE - of the many reasons I backed away from submitting anything other then what I did . . . :D

It seems this contest could get very "Proprietary" to designs being "copied" besides other subjective facts of who did what to what and when . . . AND the question by some of why someone would "win" over someone else - when they were supposedly not the first one to come up with the "Original" Idea . . .

Right after the Contest was posted, the first thing that came to my mind also was a "Pirate" theme and the "Pirate Ship" also . . . After all this is a Capt' Brian contest and for "Red Sky Mods" - Right? . . . So instead of posting what I thought of right away, I wanted to do some research. Well - my bad, cause I could now lay "claim" to being the 1st to come up with the "Pirate Ship" idea . . . Which of course, IMO - is foolish as "Pamdane" so rightfully stated "Hey, its a pirate theme, how could great minds not think alike. . ."

It is just to Bad - as when Ms. "Laura" posted a link to the "Google 3D" program she was using - a sharing of "information" and a more collaborative effort isn't being used a lot more for this one . . . And knowing my limited abilities - is why, I left my submission open for anyone to take to the next level . . .

SO - as any good crew would do, why not follow "Our" Capt's and Ms. "Laura's" lead and start to work together on this one . . . There are some really GREAT Submissions and other ideas that need a slight tweak here and/or there . . . Could you imagine what could be come up with if a couple of people put their heads together before the contest closes tonight . . . WOW ! ! !

BTW: This post is - NOT MEANT IN ANYWAY - as a complaint nor a criticism . . . It is just a personal opinion and my :2c:

What's more important, Capt' Brian has always been very generous - fair and reasonable in all his contest . . . It is Just a THOUGHT ! ! ! :)

Okay, it is now time for me to go back into View attachment 58558 and View attachment 58559 . . .

Allowing more than 3 entries which was the originally stated rule would be unfair to anybody who does not see a new post allowing more but you are free to update, fix or replace any existing entries if you feel you've created something better.

Just make sure to replace the image with the new one in the original post and make a note at the top so I know it's a new entry!

One thing about designs though, even with a "ship" design is there can be numerous variations, different layouts and themes. Look at the desk caddies I already offer and most of them are set in a plain rectangle, but many different setups. I think a workable and well thought out design is the important thing in our considerations.

Pamdane, for some reason I have been unable to get the link to load so I still haven't seen the basis for your idea. Is there a way you could post the picture here? Or some other solution? Is anybody else having trouble seeing it? It just spins for me when I click the link.

Idea #2 Based on this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=230678910418

I'd like it to be an island with a palm tree and treasure chest. Chest can be open with space for paper clips, cartos, watever.

On the water section, cut out for mods on one side, to use as a back drop. On the island, holes for various juices and supplies, tube mod holes...

I think one block of wood for the base, water colored. On top, an oval block irregular shape of island sloped to meed the water. Maybe inlaid fake jewels near the treasure chest..... This could be part of the ship desk caddy set.
