Have any of y'all had problems with different 18650s in the VAMO? Vapor Break suggests this, but then goes on to say the cap spring has been lengthened to accommodate different battery lengths. I have seven 18650s on hand, three different brands.

Ya NCC, I have noticed this as some fit better than others etc. Also like Scabby said, do not use protected batts in the Vamo as it already has the protection circuits built in and if you try to pull to much out of your batt at higher volts/watt settings it could pull to hard on your batt and trip the batts protection circuit turning off your batt/vamo. I use EFEST High Drain IMR 18650's 2250 MAH and they have a 10A Max discharge limit. :) They are button top. For my 18350 I use EFEST IMR 18350's and they are flat top's in case I want to stack them because some button top 18350's when stacked don't fit to well as they are to long when stacked.

Edit: The fit will also depend on what batt spring you have. Either the thin (silver) long spring or the new beefed up thicker short (Gold color) spring.

Hope that helps...... Take care an talk to everyone later this evening. :)

Sorry had to post this, for battery concerns.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...9007-warning-rechargeable-batteries-apvs.html

Also... I recommend AW IMR for your battery needs, I have also heard MNKE and Orbtronics are good batteries from respected sources

Hope this helps

Good thread Frank and yes "SAFETY" is definately paramount when dealing with batteries. :)

Here is a snipet from that thread which applies in this situation with the Vamo:

Note 3
Some APVs have protection circuitry built-in so that PCB protection in Li-ion batteries may not be necessary. We advise that in this situation, Li-Mn cells are used if possible.

And another snipet from that post:

Please note that 'safety' is relative, when discussing rechargeable cells, as they are all potentially dangerous (for different reasons). For example, safer-chemistry cells such as Li-Mn are less likely to explode; but due to their high power they can supply tens of amps in a short-circuit/dead-short situation - some safer-chemistry batteries can supply as much as 70 amps of current.

The EFEST batteries that I mentioned in my previous post are a Hybrid IMR High Drain Li-mn/Li-ion Batt.

Basically I have found if you just use a bit of common sense and some caution when it comes to your batts you should be fine. Also "stacking" is not recommended and I won't recommend it to anyone, but was just stating that I have done it as my own personal choice and have never had a problem. No worries all. :D

So how is everyone tonight? Doing good I hope. Been busy as all get out lately myself....... I will try to get ahold of the Park people tomorrow if I get home from work in time to call. I looked up that link that you posted Dusther but didn't see a phone number to call to reserve the spot? Will see what I can find.

Well all that battery talk last night jinxed me LOL. I didn't have a batt go boom or anything but my e-pipe is toast. :( I forgot I had it in my helmet bag and it had that little vivi tank attached to it. Well apparently the vivi tank leaked into the 510 connector and shorted....

Sitting at the computer last night and noticed something that smelled like that Liquid Smoke flavoring that you can add to food. Thought for a second then realized it was coming from my bag. Pulled it out and the vivi tank was all melted/distorted, the end of the drip tip was melted away and the connection on the pipe is fried. So I pulled the batt out and it is fine, thankfully. Guess I might order a new 510 connection and fix it sometime. Would like to put a switch in also so it is a push button instead of automatic (draw) activated. Think that would work better.

Anyway.... How is everyone tonight?

Doing fine way over here in Panama City. Got me a two day weekend to enjoy. My car needs a good Spring cleaning, inside and out, before the weather gets so hot that I can't stand to do so ... for six months, heh. I've also got to replace a tire. 3-4 weeks ago I hit a monster pothole that flattened a tire. The damage is high on the sidewall and most places won't touch a repair like that ... and I am not about to take highway speeds with the damaged tire. So, I have to buy two tires . It's always something, ain't it? And, NO, I have zero plans to visit Panama City Beach during Spring Break!

Went by Sam's, guess he is planning another meet but no date as of yet.

Sounds good. I promise I will get ahold of the Whiting park people on Monday if they are open. I got home a little while ago but was taking care of other things so I will call on Monday. I think I found a good number for them so will try to get the Pavillion reserved for the 20th. Is that still good for everyone?

I stopped by the new store over in Milton today (Vapor Trails of Pace) today was his first day opened. Small selection as of right now. Seems the order for the new store wasn't really timed real well with the Chinese New Year and Revolution at the same time. But he does have some juice on the shelf 15 per 30ml a few APV's. I talked to him about possibly hosting some meets and he seemed pretty cool about the idea.

Ok all, got one of the Whiting Park pavillions reserved under my name for the 20th of April for 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Hope that sounds ok with everyone........ :)

Edit: I am sure we can stay longer than 6 p.m. also if we want, just figured I would make it from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. and then if we wanted to stay longer it should be no problem. :D
