Yep. I've thought about this before and have been real careful, but I actually put my ecig in my purse and I have a manual battery and the button must have gotten pressed. I didn't even think about it, and I took a drag when I got out of the store, and YUCK. So I take a look at it, and it's burnt to ..... I can see that the wick is burnt, and it's just all nasty in there now, so I doubt it's salvageable, but I thought I'd ask. It's not just burnt taste, the thing is burnt, lol. Whoops.

Might be a good time to switch to a tea bag or other alternate filler.

Yes, most definitely! I'm about to run out and get some right now actually... been checking out the vids, looks easy enough. Besides, even when my 510's not in my purse having it's button held down for god-knows-how-long (which is a mistake I will most definitely not make again), I'm tired of little poly-hairs getting stuck in my atty when I'm vaping. Not a nice taste, and sometimes I can't even get 'em out with tweezers so I just gotta let 'em burn. Yuck.

Hmmm! I read a thread about something burning in the cartomizer. I have been vaping for a couple weeks now, on and off, and today I noticed a burnt smell. Thinking back, other cartomizers sorta smelled burnt also, but I'm so used to the nastey analog smell that I didn't pay it much attention. Today I decided to rip open the cartomizer and I was disappointed by what I found. I guess it's the "wick" part. It has a cotton look and texture to it, but it's cylindrical shaped. I took a picture of it and will post it when I get to 15 posts. I'm not too happy about it and will let the manufacturer of my e-cig know about it. I hope it's not a defect and I hope I haven't been inhaling too much of that "plastic" crap!! :(

I'm not clear if the original poster is talking about atomizers or cartomizers.
But it does sort of sound like we are talking about atomizers here.

The wick in an atomizer WILL NOT BURN, seriously.
It just can't happen.

Check out this thread if you are using atomizers...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ion/97014-facts-about-cleaning-atomizers.html

The above thread has a link to the best cleaning method possible.
There will never be a better way to clean your atomizers.

Now if you are using cartomizers, that is a different question.

Ive tried a couple of cleaning methods and not much improvement. Maybe I didn't do it properly. tried boiling and blowing, tried running hot water through and blowing. not much improvement so i will be just keeping attys on hand. one lasting 1-3 weeks is fine. they have LR attys at notcigs.com for 5.50, reg 510 attys for 4.99 at Valuevapor.com and 4 bucks at Tasty vapor. so when i order juice i will just add a couple of attys to the order.
when they lose some of their fizz i will just give it to son and break out a new one. lol
I think the juice density dictates how long they will last. the money I save on real cigs more than justifies popping on a new atty vs my time of trying to get a little extra time from em.
Keep Vaping
