That is just so sad.

Isn't it, though? I get so incoherent with rage about their vicious cynicism and self-righteousness. I would love to see each one of them individually charged with murder for each and every death that occurs that could have been prevented had they not undermined vaping and terrorized people.

I'm with you on all that. It's murder. Perhaps for the sake of taxes. Or just the ability to control. Smokers (and vapers) are just the experimental front to Orwellian Population Control.

Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie here. Have been smoking a little over a pack a day for 35 or so years, never thought I would quit. A friend of mine convinced me to try vaping. Went out to local shop and told them what I wanted to do. They suggested a KangerTech Subox Mini for an entry level device and to start at 12 mg Nic. I picked up a spare Arctic subohm (0.5 ohm) tank and a few flavors at 12 mg and went on my way. The first day I had 4 cigs. The 2nd day I had 2. The 3rd day I did not have any. Today is the 9th day without any smokes. (Yeah for me!!!!! lol) I understand that at 12 mg's Nic, the vape can be a little harsh and will improve as I drop Nic levels so I keep my wattage way down (10 - 15 watts). I have NOT been 'Jonesing' for a cig yet! So here is my question.
After smoking for 35 odd years, how long should I hang at the 12 mg level before I try to drop to 6? I am sure someone out there has been in a similar situation. Dont want to make it this far and start having cravings lol.

Ya'll have a nice day now and Thanks for looking!

Stay there forever if you like; nicotine isn't going to hurt you. If you start to experience the typical "over-nic'ed" symptoms (nausea, stomach pain, jitters, insomnia, etc), then drop if you like, but dropping by 50% in one go isn't the best way to do it -- it would be better to drop no more than 25% at once, to 9mg from 12mg, if you feel that dropping is necessary.

Ask your B & M store if they mix nic levels to order. Some places mix on the spot and will put whatever nic level you want. That's what I did. I started out at 15, went to 12, 10, 8, 6, and now at 4 on my nauti tanks and 2 on my sub tanks. Going to drop the next time to 2 on the nauti and 0 on the sub tank. Goal for me is to be nic free. And vape for flavor and oral fixation habit until I can break the oral habit. I dropped down on nic about every 4 weeks until I got to 6 and stayed there for about 3 months before dropping to 4. I've been at 4 for about 2 months. Just started using a sub tank about a month ago.

Hi PilotNY!

Everyone's different. I started at 24 mg/ml, and had NO intent or plan to reduce my nicotine from the word go, I just wanted to quit smoking.

However, after several months, I started buying 18 mg liquids and putting them into rotation without giving up the 24 mg liquids completely. I kept doing that over and over, here and there (again, with no plan or schedule) to see how it goes, and now I am at six mg for the most part.

I'd say give it some time - can't really tell you if it's going to be a month or a year - and get a few 9 or 6 mg bottles and see how your day goes with them.

Best of luck!
