Okay ... after spending a ton of money buying filled cartridges I thought I would try to do it myself. I bought my juice from Absolutelycigs and I followed an example on Youtube. I have a M-402 btw. It seemed easy enough and tested the first cart I filled. It worked but not enough vap, so on my next cart I put in more juice. Using a syringe, I put in about 10 drops then the filler material, then one more drop .. made sure the filler material was loose for the air to pass through. Went back to try it .. and now my atomizer doesn't work. I tried another atomizer, another battery .. no luck. Could it be my juice?

As you can see I am very new to this and really would appreciate help. Thanks.

??? The air doesn't pass through the 402 inner cart at all. The filler is just wicking to hold the liquid and bring it to the atty bridge. Did you just put back the filler exactly as you took it out? If you reduced the amount of wicking, the liquid will all just run straight out, flooding the atty and the battery, and potentially ruining both. If you are using a syringe to fill, you should be able to push up the inner cart through the hole in the mouthpiece, stick the syringe in the inner cart and add juice until it comes to the top edge of the inner cart. Then push the inner cart back into the mouthpiece with the bridge of the atomizer, and you should be good to go.

The M4 series DOES NOT like excess juice getting into the batteries. That is the number one reason I have killed units. The atomizers don't seem to care for excess liquid either. I refill all the time, and don't have a problem, but you definitely have to be careful with amounts.

When you say "no luck" what do you mean? If you have a different atomizer and a different battery, does it light up? Are you not getting anything on the draw? I assume you are using automatic batteries. If not, take the cart off and push the button on the manual to see if the atomizer lights up.

I've never had any problem using the absolutelyecigs juice (although I've switched to a different supplier now), so that should not be your problem.

Thank you for answering. What I did was first remove the filler and ran it under water. I dried it well, and then put 10 drops into the inner case, placed back the filler and topped it off. Then put it back into the outer cartridge. When I mention air .. on the link I watched as my example, it said to make sure the filler was light and airy allowing the juice to flow.

I do still have a battery light showing so my batter is okay. But of my 4 atomizers (two a week old) I'm not getting any vapor.

Do you hear anything when you try to take a drag? I wonder if you've flooded the attys? Try blowing the attys out into a paper towel. Does alot of liquid come out? If so, you may be flooded. After blowing out the attys, put the attys back on the batt and try to take a drag without a cartridge attached. Also, wipe all threads. If they're dirty or wet, it can interfere with the electrical connections.

I couldn't hear much of a draw so I blew out the atomizer and wiped off the threads. Also took a drag without the cart and could hear the drag well at this point. So, I put on one of my re-filled carts and nothing. This is very frustrating.

I ordered new atomizers and pre-filled carts and have a week to 10 days to wait. Wishes i could run down to the local store to buy.

When you blew out the atty, did juice come out? You need to blow hard from both ends. When you could hear the drag, did you get any vapor? It could be that the atty is less flooded but still too wet. BTW, you know that you can vape this way (direct drip on the atty w/ no cartridge or just a mouthpiece), don't you? It's not advisable to direct drip consistently with an auto batt because juice can get into the batt and damage it, but it shouldn't hurt to do it to test that the batt and atty are working properly. Do you have a freshly charged batt to try the attys on? Do you have a PRE-filled cart that still works? You're trying to use process of elimination to pinpoint the problem. In my experience, no vapor is due to a flooded atty or a dyING battery (light could still shine). I don't know how a cartridge could cause this problem, unless it's vastly over-filled, in which case you should be spitting mouthfuls of juice before worrying about no vapor! Obviously, this has peaked my curiosity. I'd like to see a resolution for you.

Cali, here is the 402 info forum. You'll get lots of attention there from folks who use the 402 regularly if you post there. Lots of good info. threads to read too.

Put a drop on the exposed atomizer. The little cartridges don't hold much juice, so you'll probably be better off dripping on the atty or dipping into liquid (many use the case that comes with contact lenses for liquid, and just dip the atty into it rather than refilling all the time) with the M40X series attys.
