i've been told you can refill a cartamizer 3 or 4 times before they go bad. my question is what part goes bad? is it the atomizer or the stuffing? and if its the stuffing can you replace the stuffing to get 2 or 3 more refills.also if it is the stuffing what kind of stuffing do i use to replace it and where can i get it? Thanks

You should be able to refill many more times than that. A well cared for cartomizer can last for weeks before you finally have to throw it out.

Which part goes bad? Both can go bad. Sometimes they just stop working, other times you get a burnt taste or smell that won't go away no matter how many times you clean it out or which juice you use. That's when you know it's time to just toss it. I've seen some video tutorials showing how to tear them down and clean and replace the filler, but it's a delicate procedure. IMO, it's just not worth it because cartos are so cheap and they're meant to be disposable.

You can clean them out very easily. I just rinse mine out under hot running water in the sink (make sure you have something covering the drain in case you drop it!) It only takes a few minutes. If I'm not in a hurry I'll let them dry for a couple of days. You can also use a hair dryer. I've even heard of people putting them in the oven at 250 degrees for 15 or 20 minutes.

I have been rotating 3 cartos for over two weeks and all 3 get refilled once a day or more. I clean them every few days with 91% alcohol, blow them out, let them dry for a couple of hours, refill and they're good to go again.

i hope your also running water after that 91% iso....rubbing alcohol isnt really a good thing to be vaping!-)

I cook my cartomizers for about 15 minutes in water, blow them out and stick them in the oven at 200 degree for about 20 minutes. I use Blast Away multi purpose electronic duster.
I found out I can re-use my cartomizers up to 3 month

Really? :)

Anyways.... you people are so lucky, i dont know what i am doing wrong, my cartos dont usually last longer than two days, is it because i keep getting bad ones, donno, it gets frustrating because i am a newbie and dont know enough. I do refill often, not one of those who will clean the cartos because i am too lazy :p. But yeah, sometimes just a day, lucky if i get two ...:(

What method are you using to fill/refill your cartos? I find that I get better consistency in the fill by popping the soft cap off and dripping into a tipped carto, wait, drip a little more, wait, and so on until at last a drop comes out of the bottom. Stop. While many like the CCFM method, Carto Cap Fill Method, I don't get my cartos as well filled that way, but that's just my experience.

i have used both methods, i do think the condom method is easier, but i have switched to just dripping from the top because its easier to do so when i am not at home, and yes i refill until juice comes out from the bottom. so doesnt sound like i am doing anything wrong, maybe....its my tastebuds?!? They just taste off, and sometimes burnt, grrrr, i donno.

Hey CoughingBad,
Should be able to get several cleanings and refills from cartos. If you're getting the burnt taste, it's probably because you let them get to dry and still hit off of them. The heating element(attie) will scorch the filling and they'll probably never taste decent again, even after a good cleaning. I always fill my cartos, vape a bit, and keep topping them off with a few drops every so often. That way they're always wet.
See you around.

That's what i dont understand, i do top them off often i even started a thread asking how often is too often :) But still the taste changes and yes sometimes burnt, within a day. Since i cant stand off taste, vaping for me is getting expensive
