I have used both the condom refill method, as well as removing the mouthpiece and dripping into the batting directly. With the condom method, just fill the condom about 1/2, then very, very slowly push the cart in (I usually push from the mouth end 1st, then the battery end if it will take more), use the Taryn spin to remove any excess, and than vape. I have 2 auto batts and 1 manual and I have never had a problem. If the juice comes out of the battery end, the Taryn spin will take care of any residue, then just wipe the battery end and enjoy. Hope this helps.

The amount of juice I use to refill is highly variable. I don't put in a predetermined amount, I just fill the cart. This task is very easy to do with syringes. It's quick, easy, has minimal mess, and I have yet to screw up an auto battery.

I did a pretty thorough explanation of this a while back in another thread describing my syringe refill method at the time. It's still a pretty accurate description of my process, I've only got a couple of things I'd add to it now.
    • Be careful when pulling the waste juice out of the center, you don't want to mess up the atomizer coil. You should never have to force your needle in, it will drop in from its own weight when there's nothing in the way.
    • A 20 gauge needle seems to be better suited for removing the juice from the center. It's much easier to insert without damaging anything and it usually gets rid of all the excess instead of leaving an extra drop.
    • Always dry off the inside of your battery-end condom and the battery connection itself after refilling. They'll frequently have a little juice on them after refilling and if you leave it there it will gunk things up.

One last thing. I think that my refilling method also helps explain why I can use a carto for well over a month without needing to wash it. The little bit of waste I pull out of the center breaks up/dissolves some of the old, gross stuff that builds up on the atomizer. So, basically, every time I refill it gets cleaned up a little.

I drip and YES I do my very best to keep if from dripping into the batt. I have flooded them in the past and so have many others. Its very frustrating when you do because its not cheap and totally avoidable. Refilling is really easy with the new school of cartos TG!! (Old School Cartos: the ones on super sale or the VG ones that dont say premium or wow or cool cart)

Just take the carto off the batt, open top, drip till it doesn't look like it will take any more juice...its fine if you go one drip over (sometimes the first few drops go in slowly also but it should speed up. You know you over dripped if your last drop doesn't sink into the batting. Get something absorbent (I use small pieces of Bounty paper towel). it really "pulls" the excess out when you push up on the batt end of the carto and move it around until no more juice is coming off on the paper towel. Then make sure the batt end is ALL clean and either use immediately or store sitting up-right to let more drip out for a little while longer. What I mean by use it immediately is I figure if its still dripping out a little a few good drags should take care of any excess. I even use a Leaford Lanyard and don't have problems ANYMORE with flooding batts.

Has anyone flooded a new auto batt is my question??

I learned how to avoid flooding before the new batts with the smaller top hole came out so I can't vouch for that. I'm assuming its the same if you want your money's worth out of your batt.

If you get a lot of juice in your mouth you may want to switch to manual batts. I find that they cause the cartos to be less finicky.

    Happy Vaping!!

    I use the condom/spin:
First I stick a needle in the cotton a few times around the outside edges to get it free and fluffy like new again (if used after cleaning and dry, not new).

Second, with both condoms off, I fill the top condom about 1/3 the way full with my flav of the day, then slowly push the mouth side in on a counter top, not in hands in case it comes out some how. (fill mouth side, leave the rubber/plastic mouth piece in, helps make the liquid go straight to the cotton) While doing this watch the batt end and do slowly and make sure no liquid comes out from the small batt hole.

Third, take a sock (pref. a clean one) and put the carto with just the cap I pushed on and still no cap on the other side (no cap on batt. side) and face it mouth side pointing up, then spin it a good 10 whirls.

Fourth, take carto out of sock take off condom, take off mouth rubber/plastic insert and check, if still not filled I will repeat steps 2-3 again (most likely and 80% of the time you will need to repeat to fill fully)

Finally, after cart is full and ready to enjoy, stick a straightened paper clip in the batt end SLOWLY, twisting to move it through if needed, till it appears through the hole in the top of the cotton.

(((Last step is not needed and may not be safe to do unless you feel like you can, this step to me ensures the hole is free and clear and makes the air way more open on used carts, also I have found it clears out any and all liquid that might have gotten in that air hole and thus preventing nasty mouth liquid shots!))) [[use to use a needle, but now a paper clip thanks to PawPaw!]]

    And :vapor: enjoy
