from what I know ss vamo is already brushed finished. if yours is shiny , it may be chrome plated brass, be careful with that, you do not want to expose the brass below

Thanks for all the suggestions... I would most probably try it with scotch bright and see how it goes from there.

That's why bro, I say use steel-wool...
Not too rough, not too fine.... easier to manipulate as well.

But like what alvinado mentioned, don't over do. If not you'll end up with a brass tube instead of chrome.

Another tip:

Use a drop of our mom's "Sewing-Machine" oil and apply thinly on your metal.
Then start working on it, the oil will make it easier to work and helps on the finishing.

I used the purple scotch bright and rubbed it by hand. I would recommend using a drill cos i got finger cramps after that...

The method should be the same,get a drill and practice on some metal first.

It's a holiday so I thought of working on my P+... Gonna go for a two-tone look with polished top and bottom caps.

Satisfied with how it turned out... Could have gone further till mirror finish but gonna keep it this way for now... May go for a brushed finish on the tube one day... Or maybe later.... Damn addictive this hobby!

Mirror finish takes a f8load to time and practice to achive bro... Not to mention you'll need speciality sand papers/buffs for that.
(I do restorations for knives, I know.)

Best keep it this way. Looks good. Fingerprint proof.

No worries about that. I have the right tools for those. Been a polishing hobbyist for years. Doesn't help too my job nature involves being around machining workshops on some days.

I hate sharpening and polishing..... Once I start I don't stop until the knife can kill ppl without seeing blood.

I was a chef once..... now I'm an engineer. Both professions have many OCD people......
