My sweet little 5 yr old daughter was asking me questions at bedtime last night as I was explaining the meaning of Good Friday to her. Our church family has a communion service tonight. So I was explaining why we take communion. She asked me why they put Jesus on the cross. I love these opportunities. I love the way God gave us the mandate as men and women to share and understanding of Him as friend and savior. I always reflect this week, and every year, I get a deeper understanding of Christ and His work on the cross. I used to think Jesus was sweating blood and dreading the physical torture he would endure. Several years ago, I started reading the scripture, and realizing I had for many years looked at the teaching from
a human perspective. The Word is obviously, however, teaching us things on a spiritual level. I now believe it was Jesus becoming the curse, becoming our sin, being separated from the Father, if for even a moment, that caused him such agony. Amazing that he fulfilled the law, never sinned. Yet he became our sin. I can't fathom that kind of sacrificial love. Jesus paid it all. All to him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain. He washed me white as snow. Love.

I love this personal revelation on the spiritual aspect of Christ's becoming Sin for us!

How beautiful for you to share this lovely time with your Daughter.

Thank you.
