I think this is the issue. If you don't get all of that axle grease out of the atty, I think the juice may find alternate paths to the bottom, possibly missing the cup and coil entirely. My big issue with these atties is that I find it hard to get all of that stuff out. Now I soak them overnight in low-grade vodka, then clean them by rinsing in hot running tap water and blowing them out multiple times. Then I have them blessed by a priest before trying them.

Okay, the last part is a lie. But they really are a pain in the ... for me. Also, I don't think they deliver flavor at a level close to the other atties I use, so I avoid them with any juice that has subtle undertones. I wish they worked better for me, though, 'cause I have a lot of them.
Im glad that its not only me. I thought it was user error at first. I'm new to atomizers so they are the only ones I've tried. What other attys do you use that you can recommend to a beginner like me?

Best deal for a really good and tasty atty is probably Empire mods' 510's for $5.99. Cisco Spec's from Avidvaper are great, but more expensive. Ditto HH357's from Avid; those are $22. My real faves come from Vapage. Those are $18 for two, but watch out for their discount offers; sometimes they're half price (although it's been a long time since they've had that offer).

Thank you for all the help. I'll definitely look into those attys to see what would be best for me. I noticed that there are many cisco spec options out there!!! Out of curiosity, how many drops can you get into those before experiencing flooding?

I searched the Cisco specs and saw that some are closed at the top with only a small hole. What are those?

I use Cisco Spec attys now with all else being back-up. To me the CS Bridged atties are just like Joyes, but not so hit or miss -- 9 times out of 10 they're a hit.

Just recently bought two of the CS 501's and one was a dud after only a few days. Totally caught me off-guard. Must have been a #10!

Ha! Contact them and tell them what happened. They have replaced mine on those rare occurrences. So even the duds are only an inconvenience in that they will take a little time to get replaced, but your money should be good still.

p.s. Just tell them it was a dud though. Don't make it sound like you did something wrong, i.e., "it was working...". We know that these things can crap out too soon, so our definition of a dud is not theirs, but a dud is a dud. Leave it at that.

Are you referring to what you see in images like this one?

In that case, the black section at the top is a blank cartridge (the same as was used with the attys originally, but without any filler in it). It's essentially nothing more than a cap or cover to keep foreign debris out during storage and pulls right out of the atty.

Thanks for picking up the slack on this question. I got ready to answer it until I realized I had no idea what was being asked. I thought it was about bridge-free atties, but that didn't feel right.

YES!!

Thank you. I was looking for the Cisco Spec attys and found more than a few options. I had no idea what I was looking at and didnt want to buy the wrong thing. I'm thinking of "upgrading" from the Joyetech 510s since I cant seem to get it to stop flooding over 2 drops.

Thanks again for reading my mind ;)

So you're having this problem with more than one of your 510 atomizers?

Yes. The 2 that I've tried flood with anything over 2 drops of liquid. After 2 or 3 refill it cant take more than 1 drop at a time or else it floods. I vape the drops until there is nothing left and start to get dry hits so I dont think there is an over-saturation left over.

Okay, last question... what kind of bottle or pipette are you using to drip with?

I drip from the 10 mL bottle. One type has the rounded tip like the one from MVB and the other one is more pointy like from Vaporfi. There is no difference when I use one or the other.

Bummer...

I was hoping you were dripping straight out of some huge pipette and that everything was really normal.
But it sounds like those two atomizers just sort of suck.

If I keep it at 1 drop, it works just fine for a few hits. Its just very time consuming and still starts to leak slightly after a few re-fills. I'll keep looking into the Cisco Spec attys!!

I have to add this about the VK atty's, although it makes no sense to me. I've had bad luck with them. Many only last a few days, and I can't get a good vape from them. I've been dripping for 2.5 years, so I don't think lack of experience is the problem.

My wife on the other hand, who up until the VK atty's could fuss up ANYthing I built or bought for her, is kicking .... with the VK's. They vape like a dream from her mech, taste fabulous, and have been lasting millenia. Every single one. She used to burn things up, flood the hell out of things that are almost impossible to flood, she's like a freight train on the VK atty's. Never floods it. Her first one lasted about 6 weeks, and when it stopped working, was SURPRISED when I told her the coils can fail after awhile. She has no interest in the technical side, and I think she thought it was going to last forever.

So there, no rhyme or reason apparent. I',m just happy she's happy, and I'm not having to fix her stuff all the time still.

You know, i must say....it is something to read these posts on you folks using good ol' 510 atty's.
I remember using fish filter to surround the bridge, and would get more vapor that way.
Of course as things have progressed, i have not bought any type of atomizer in over 2 years now.

I can tell you, if you were to just try let's say a nautilus mini, or Eleaf GS Air Tank , you will not have to worry about dripping 1 drop every few seconds.

Just my 2 cents, VApe on.

Eleaf GS Air Tank
