I have a regulator and the terminals are (in+) (in-) (+) (out). I am assuming both batteries need to be connected to the regulator like an external PCB board would be so I would connect the one battery positive to (in+) negative to (in-) and the other battery positive to (+) and negative to (out) without a common? If I used it on a 3.7 mode just use 2 of the 4 terminals? Things would be much easier if these parts had standard symbols instead of whatever they want to put on it. I attached the picture. Thanks.

(-) IS the common. Notice in the circuit below how the common connection for the circuit parts is where the negative terminal of the battery connects. The entire point of a regulated mod is variable voltage from low to high. You gang the batteries in series to obtain a voltage that can be varied. In the circuit below, it's 6v VCC (positive terminal reading) from 4AA in series. You could also use two 3.7v Li-ion batts to obtain 7.4 volts. The variable would be determined by the values of the circuit components.
