Well, the bad news first...

...had a few drinks last night (by that, I mean I had about 13 drinks) and ended up bumming an analog off of some dude when my eGo died.

It was horrible really, but in my moment of impaired judgement and need for nicotine, I smoked it. I barely remember it, to be honest - no lingering desire for one today.

The good news though, the new EVOD coils in the mailbox this morning were a silver lining to my awful, hung-over state this morning.

They look a lot different than the coils I had in my EVODs, and they out-perform them too. My old coils were 2ohm, these are 2.2, but I think most of the improved performance comes from ACTUAL Kanger coils.

I don't think my "EVODs" are actually EVODs. They're some kind of clones, but the Kanger coils fit, and work a lot better from what I can tell.

backup = essential

Stuff happens....at least when you did smoke it was because your battery died...not because you made the choice otherwise.

Glad the new coils are making a difference. Sometimes small changes make a huge impact. And like a lot of things...sometimes buying the name brand does make a positive difference.

Today is a new day....keep on vaping!!

I figure it's one of two things:

1: My clearos are not genuine Kanger clearos, and have some other knock-off brand of coils that don't perform correctly (I was getting a lot of flooding/gurgling, juice in my mouth, and burnt taste on them)

OR

2: They're some sort of old-style of Kanger coil design.

I'm leaning towards problem #1 though - theses don't even say Kanger on them, they're re-branded with a "Lotus" logo.

Either way, they're doing much better now with the new coils in them.

I totally agree with this. Very important to have a backup and not create any excuses to use an analog.

OP congrats on your willpower to have just one. :)

^Yeah, definitely (the part about being prepared).

It was really, really bad actually. I was a Marlboro Red/Marlboro Smooth smoker, and what I bummed was a Salem Ultralight Slim, so even 17 days ago when I was still smoking 1.5 PAD, I would've hated it. :p

I was really craving my green apple menthol e-juice I had in my PT3, but when I tried to fire it up I got what I've dubbed "the continuous blinking light of doom."

I mostly use mechs w/ a Kick 2, but never leave the house without the VV 3.0 as a backup. You need more mAh on your device.

There are worse things that you could have done after 13 drinks though.....

Always keep a back up. Its is the only thing that will keep you from falling back on them! Also...when I'm drinking I stick with a tank for simplicity but even with my battery fully charged its the one time I'll still occasionally crave a real smoke so I often keep my dripper handy on a mech in the car or girlfriends purse as my sub-ohm last line of defense.. Few rips off that sucker and I can completely forget about cigarettes again even if they are being smoked in front of me. Tanks work great but having that thing around for weak moments has been priceless.

First off, you didn't relapse if you only smoked 1 analog. You just slipped up....don't count it against yourself as long as you don't go back to smoking analogs again. You're doing GREAT!!!!!!! :D

I relapsed once and it lasted for 3 months. yuck. I'd quit for 9 months prior with vaping as well with no issues. This time, I am not going to relapse and now I'm loaded up with enough juice to bathe in and a new provari mini that came just today. I try and remember everyday that I am one cigarette away from going back again. Been there, done that. Good luck to you.

I had terrible luck with the kanger protank 3 coils. I had a single coil that was leaking/gurgling. I rewicked it with cotton instead of silica and it has been south better. No more leaking and much better vapor production

I agree. Keep the faith, dudetheman. Like others here have recommended, having an extra battery in your pocket will help you tremendously. When I'm out with my Triton VV rig, I always carry a fully charged, standard Triton 650mAh battery with me. It's only three inches long, so I can hardly feel it in my pocket.*

And never forget, we've got your back. :)

Hey, another fan of The Floyd! I'm a dedicated Floydian, myself. Do you collect their rarities? I've got 61 PF albums at the moment, most of which are rarities and limited editions. I haven't collected in several years, though. In retrospect, I wish I could get back some of the money I spent on them so I could buy the vaping gear I want.

OK, sorry for my off-topicness. :p It's not every day you run into a fellow Pink Floyd fan.
