Remember me button has alzheimers

Normally when I click a link for an updated thread in my email, I'm taken to the post - automatically logged in. That stopped happening this evening. I log in, check that box and the very next notification i click on, has me logged back off.

I have done nothing to my system or browser today.. no updates.

Windows 7
Waterfox 18
cookies enabled
