Remove color on 510PCC?

I just received my 510PCC today - only problem is that it is purple, not blue. Anyone know if the PCC is just painted, or is the color already mixed in the metal. I'm curious because I would like to just sand the purple color off.

My black one has the finish worn off in a number of places, so I think it's just painted on.

Hmmm, now this is very odd...my new 'blue' PCC sure looked blue in the light of day this morning. But this evening...it looks purple?

Yeah, make sure what light you're viewing it in. Incandescent vs. flourescent can make a difference.

I have pants that look black in white light and purple in incandescent light.
they are my favourite.
