I know you're trying to help, but No. 2 in that list is snake oil. Mixing vinegar with baking soda just creates an two-stage chemical reaction, the result of which is CO2, water and a precipitated salt called sodium acetate. The "foaming" is just the CO2 escaping.

Sodium acetate is used in the food industry to create salt and vinegar flavorings on tater chips.

as i said might work or to do after the other cleaning as a second round....although i didn't read it thoroughly i will agree, i was quickly reading and I wouldn't mix the two...i'd clean with the vinegar alone to clean and then baking soda to deodorize.

+1 on Ozone generators. You have to be careful with these & follow directions exactly.
Basically, you treat a room at a time & you have to evacuate the house/car while doing so. Then you have to air out the treated space with fresh air before you can reoccupy the room. The people that gave links are very helpful. I would thank you for the links personally but I will lose this message if I go back to see who they are. You know who you are.
I have always wanted to own one myself so thanks for the link to a very affordable machine.

It leaves the room smelling like after a rainstorm. I have used them quite a lot & they are very effective.

Hey

I forgot to post this link for ordering (hard to find it on the other links) and it has a
little more info.

I been thinking of getting the commercial unit for the last several years, so I can ozonate olive oil. Check youtube on Ozonating olive oil.. Very interesting stuff.

I can give away my smaller unit and use this for everything. I might just get it this time and pass on the Reo Grand VV for now.

I have my Vamo which is working just fine.

Anyway here's the link.

note: when or if you get ducts cleaned make sure they use the rotating brush and not the pneumatic squid.

both a fogger and an ozone generator wouldnt work well because it wont penerate most painted surfaces or treated surfaces the way cig smoke does. While it works well for fire/smoke damage, cig smoke leaves a caked on protective layer of nicotine just like inside your car windshield except you most likely never windex your walls and ceilings. ozone tends to work ok for short term because it mainly gets rid of airborn odors but as soon as it gets humid again the nicotine layer just stinks back up again.

if you really wanted to be cheap and shady just use deodorizing crystals that you can get from commercial carpet/cleaning supply stores. throw a pinch in the a/c return and let it run for a good while.

Not true..I use it and know other's who also use it.

Have you ever used a real good ozone gen other than the cheap crappy ones, which don't do the job correctly the first time ?

Thanks

PS: Normal cleaning and painting should also be done ,as you don't want disclored walls and furniture etc ,even if the smell is gone.
