So I'm on day 5 now without an analog and strictly vaping. I'm trying different flavors and experimenting with different levels of nicotine, but I find old flavors still lingering even after 4 or 5 draws. Do I need to get a new atty for each flavor I try or is there a better way to remove previous flavors? I'm currently using a Joye ego with a blue plug mod if it makes a difference at all.

You need to either use seperate carts or clean the filler between flavor changes if your not doing that already. Other then that blowing out the atty between flavor changes will help but depending on the previous flavor and new flavor you'll get residual flavor for a couple draws or more.. As far as flavor specific atty's good idea for menthol and heavy cinnamon flavors they can persist a real long time.

There are strong flavors such as menthol, cinnamon, rootbeer and clove that will stay in an atty. It is best to reserve at least one atty for stronger flavors. You can clean your atty if you get a flavor that just won't go away, but usually if you use one atty for strong flavors the previous flavor will be vaped away if you continue to use another strong flavor. Some people soak their atty in alcohol and then let them dry for 24 hours. I used to do that, but I really see no difference in the way my atty performs if I just run hot water through it and then let it dry for a bit and start vaping again after putting a few drops on the atty.

I agree, since you are using the blue foam plug you will need to swap out the filler or clean it, because the blue foam tends to keep the flavor in.

I've been trying a lot of different samples too and have had the same problem with lingering taste. I've had good luck using one atty and cart (510) for "testing" and rinsing with rubbing alcohol between taste trials. I didn't do much research into ways to clean the cart and atty and some veteran might have a better idea. All I'm doing is taking the fill out of the cart and putting the fill, cart and atty in a small bowl of alcohol for a little while, swishing it around a bit then taking the pieces out to air dry. So far so good.

Does dipping the atty in rubbing alcohol leave any alcohol traces when you draw? So far, I've just been washing off the cart and the plug that I use with hot water. I wasn't sure if soaking the atty in hot water or alcohol was safe or not. I'd like to get the most life out of an atty as possible, though I know that it will need to be replaced after a month or so.

Yup. the alcohol will evaporate. I bought a VERY strong cinnamon flavor from JC, and it was AWFUL. Worse yet, every other flavor after that tasted JUST like cinnamon. So I rinsed it in hot water and then splashed it in alcohol. Afterwords blew through it (from both sides) to get the loose drips off, and then used a hair dryer to complete the drying. After 5-7 minutes of the hair dryer, it was fully dryer. I then dripped a new flavor on the atty, burned it off for a few seconds, and THEN resumed vaping, with no alcohol OR cinnamon taste! :)

You can soak your atty in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for a little bit, dry it off, blow it out and then let it sit out to dry overnight. The Iso Alc will completely evaporate, so no worries about vaping it. You can also put a couple of drops of plain VG on the bridge before you put the cart on it. Like Sainted said, stronger flavors may just need their own atty.

I usually don't bother and just vape through it. I've found some awesome flavor mixes that way (for example, backwoods maple tobacco and freedomsmokeusa's cocoa chaos go awesomely well together). I would recommend using a separate atty for things with really ridiculously strong tastes, like some of the menthols and spicy flavors like atomic fireball. If you get a really awful flavor (BASIC Tobacco #2, for example) stuck in there, you can definitely rinse it out under hot water or soak in really hot water, blow out both ends and vape through the rest. It WILL change over eventually.
