Hey all~! Most of you guys know my story...I'm struggling terribly with not being able to give up the analogs. The majority of the juices I try are too high in PG and I cough and hack so bad I can't tolerate them (even some VG juices aren't smooth enough). I haven't been all that proactive in my quitting efforts, just kinda thinking 'everyone else quit pretty easy, one day I'll just wake up and not want to smoke'.

Today I have renewed determination~! I am gonna quit smoking, dammit~! I'm NOT going to let all the cash I've shelled out on mods and juices and the like to be all for nothing~!

I think I definitely need to get some form of juice in a mg higher than 18, and possibly up all my juices to 24mg. I won a 20ml bottle from diyflavorshack and a $10 GC to Vapor Bomb and I'm thinking I'll try some higher nic juices.

I think I want to get a 5v passthru to dedicate to my car...and....(ack) I'm giving snus a try. It isn't so bad, and definitely not as bad as analogs.

I will gladly accept any and all advice/encouragement~!

I love you guys,
Lynlee

Lynlee- take one half hour at a time. If you know that a smoke with coffee in the morning is "your thing" then switch (gasp!) to tea. My 2 weeknesses were my private time smoke in the car (no kids) I timed everything by how many smokes I could have. The Mall was a 2 smoke trip. lol The second was my right before bed smoke. (sigh) I still miss it. But I had to change my routine. I need to be able to breath. I have to say it's been 3.5 months and I am breathing better and haven't had one run in with bronchitis - by now I've normally had it at least once after my fall sinus infection...(Still had the fall sinus infection due to allergies)

Take it 30 minutes at a time. Go drink a huge glass of water. During smoke breaks at work, fire up your PV. File your nails. Rub some yummy smelling lotion on them and appreciate that they still smell nice 30 minutes later! lol

And get a vitamin D supplement. I finally started taking mine - I've been craving a smoke BAD - it seems to help with the MAOI factor. I'm ok on nicotine levels but was missing something else...a pharmacist suggested the Vit D and while it's only been a week or so, it does seem to be helping.

Snus has helped me greatly. I tend to be a girly, girl so the idea of it wasn't that appealing, but it does work when I NEED something. I haven't gotten to try real swedish snus, but the US stuff I've gotten has done the trick.
What kind of PV are you using? I had a hard time with cravings, then I went HV. I was told higher voltage vaporizes the nic better so you get more of it. The downside to HV is it can be harsher to some,my husband can't handle it and I've learned to warn a super mini friend before letting him toot off my PVs

I will definitely pick up some vitamin D then~! Thanks for the suggestion, I'm willing to try anything. One of my big triggers is smoking while driving, that's why I'm thinking I want a 5v PT just for the car.

Since I've experienced 5 and 6v vaping 3.7 just doesn't seem to be cutting it....and waiting for these batteries to charge is rough~!!!

Advice, hmmm.....don't be too hard on yourself 1st and foremost, never stop vaping, think if you've cut your ciggys even in 1/2 and NEVER do any better are you still better off? IMO absolutely. Maybe that was encouragement?

And another option is this, IDK if you have ever tried the patch and were able to tolerate it? I have some of them here from the health dept from when I took classes in the past. Maybe since harshness and TH seem to be an issue you could vape zero nic and wear a patch and wean down? You're welcome to them if you think they'd help just PM me and I'll ship them to you.

Most importantly is that I think as big as ECF is I'd search the forums and ask the vets. Chances are someone has had the same experience as you and overcome it. By asking here you are limiting the responses to a possibility that one of us has the experience you need, by searching the forum IMO you improve your odds that someone has the experience that you need.

Good luck Hun,
boB

I have been using 3.7v pv's until lastweek when I got to try the GLV 5v. LOVE it~! Then I got an Indulgence with the extender cap and I LOVE LOVE 6v~! The batts are charging right now and the ego just doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm trying the Camel snus right now and it isn't terrible. It expired in September, so I'm going to go get a fresh tin and clean out my car (especially the ashtrays)

Thanks all for the tips~!

Lynlee, I have used a passthrough in my car but being as uncoordinated as I am, have tangled the wire in my steering wheel. I find that 808 automatics work very well in simulating smoking for me, and use them often while driving. I just have to remember to have a couple of fully charged back-ups.

For those analog cravings, and I get them most every day (and there are 2 smokers here), it's a habit thing, with certain triggers setting me off..when that comes on, I take a deep breath and grab my PV. It works for me as does vaping 24mg. Anything less than that is worthless to me. I thought you were doing DIY? If you have nic juice higher than 18mg, why don't you whip something up for yourself at a higher mg and see?

It does take an amount of resolve but Lynlee, as a 43 year, up to 3 PAD smoker, I've been analog free now for a few days over 4 months. Grabbing a cigarette is a conscious decision and if you breathe through the bit of discomfort before the nic of vaping kicks in, I think you'll be able to go smoke-free.

I wish you the best of luck with this. :)

I definitely agree on that. I bought a kit for a friend with the advice that he just start vaping and not worry so much about quitting smoking, he had just failed quitting with the gum and had tried a vape while here a few times. I think we have been brainwashed into thinking that perfectionism is bad except when quitting cigarettes! If you can replace a chunk of your smoking with vaping you are getting somewhere.

Lynlee---for the cough have you tried the wet paper towel. You have to use a 3 piece and cut a piece the shape of the top of the cart. Get it just to the point of dripping wet and put it in place. If it works at first and then you start coughing again, it means you need to get the paper towel wet again. I know, a pain, but it did wonders for my sister.

Lynlee - the pharmacist recommended 400mg vit d(d3) 3 times a day. Dr. Oz recommends 1000 mg for cancer prevention but not more than 2000mg so I figured I'm not od'ing! lol

I think you mean units... not mg lol. send me to where i can get 400mg and i'll be happy =].

And lynlee, kick that smoking in the car. I did that over a year ago and it cut my smoking down by half. and my car didn't stick anymore.

Start keeping the analogs in the trunk. and limit yourself to only one after you get done shopping, not before. or the other way around.

You don't need to stop 100% today.

just start by quitting the association between smoking and every day tasks.

But I highly suggest the smoking in the car as the first one to try dropping. it won't be easy, but you can do it.

you can replace the habit with vaping or not, but it would probably make it easier if you did

Since I started vaping I've gone from 30 a day to 15 a day average. I track them on an app on my phone. Definitely the hardest ones are first thing in the morning, while driving, after meals and during breaks at work.

Lynlee- How many analogs are you smoking a day? And what are your most often times of day to have your analogs?

Those are precisely the classic trigger points where I made sure to have a higher mg liquid around. I have a carto loaded with 30 for wakeup and first driving vape, and after meals. During the day, longer drives or at work I have 12 - 15 typically in the pt for chain vaping, but always keep some higher mg on a battery.
