I am considering buying a Reo Grand and I have a question regarding the bottle. My current setup is a Silver Bullet and J-Tank. I have a few J-tanks, as I like to be able to switch flavors during the day. It is easier for me to just have a few tanks than go through the hassle of changing the liquid in 1 single tank. With the extra bottles that you can order on the site, are the caps solid or do they have a hole in the top like the 1 that comes with it to fit the tube inside? I want to get a few extra bottles so I can fill them with my favorite liquids and be able to change out the bottles during the day AND be able to transport the bottles when I am at work. I travel a lot and often have to carry extra tanks and liquid with me. I'd like to do the same with the Reo Grand.

Hey rstreet. The extra bottles are standard and come with a dripper and a cap. You just need the bottle itself for the REO, but you have to carry spare juice in a bottle with the dripper and cap or it will leak. I take out the bottle in the REO, open the new bottle, pop off the dripper and screw the new bottle in. Put the dripper on the old bottle and cap it up. Done.

Thanks, mlinky, that's exactly what I was wondering about. If I just take the drippers off the bottles and put the caps back on when I am storing or transporting them, will it leak or be ok? I'd like to be able to just screw off the caps of the extra bottles and put them right on the Grand without fiddling with the dripper part. Also, as an aside, I use ultrafire xsl 18650 2600ma batteries with my silver bullet. Will those fit in the Grand or should I get the aw imr 18650s that are recommended?

Flavor apprentice has them in bulk for cheap Perfumers Apprentice - Cylinder Bottle (6ml) with Dropper Cap ., THe 3 mil fits the mini.

I bought these and they are the same as the original and fit, while I thought I'd be switching them out all the time, over time I tend to just refill one bottle and if it's a flavor I don't want to vape for 6mil, I partially fill it.

I think you have to drill out the top if you want to replace the top in the grand, but 6 months of constant use my original top is still working fine.

Try stepping up to the AW IMR 18650's or even the AW IC Black 18650's you will net better results with your Bullet, and especially the Grand rstreet55

I tried that and the extra bottles leak without the dripper. You can stick an o ring in the extra caps to keep them from leaking, but that was more of a problem than just popping the dripper off and on.

You can use the ultrafire, but really the AW IMRs are much better quality. IMO, a good mod deserves a superior battery.

I've found a quicker way than replacing the dripper tip (needed to seal properly)

I just keep an extra O-ring in a few tops (no hole) ..... then I just use those tops for storage and transport.
One less messy thing to deal with when switching bottles.

Its the same size O-ring in the REO ..... to lazy to look up but I have about 50 of them.
So I have 12 or so tops all o-ringed up and ready to use.

The AW IRM 18650s are the 1600ma batteries correct? I also looked up the black and those are rated at 2900ma and cost $20. Do you think those are worth the extra cost? Also, how long do the 1600ma batteries usually last in the Grand? From what I've read, they are more efficient than ultrafires.

The black 2900 will overcompress the spring and not allow it to collapse in case of a short. The 1600 mAh is kind of misleading because they are accurately rated and they will maintain a more consistant voltage for a longer time than higher rated batteries. I was always able to get a full day from one (I vape about 3ml per day).

That extra mah has to come from somewhere, and in 18650's, that means they're a shade taller. Taller batteries will compress the spring too much to make it a reliable safety (the spring collapses in case of a short to make the battery drop away from the firing pin, preventing further damage to the unit). Plus, the AW IMR's are recommended because of the way they drain, and they're chemically safe so no in-battery circuitry to fail on you either. The 1600's last a good 12+ hours of normal use, the extra hours aren't worth it (in my opinion) to lose the safety features of using the recommended battery.

Now, the extra voltage you get with 4.8v's... that's worth losing the chemical safety and drain rate in my book - DRASTICALLY shorter life (only 600mah), but it still maintains the spring safety.

I do a lot of traveling and I have been searching high and low for the best mod/PV with the least amount of work to vape. I simply don't have time (or patience) to be dripping, changing batteries, topping of cartos, etc. That's why I have been using tanks but I can't seem to keep the cartos wet inside. Even pulling on them without firing or prefilling them, I can't seem to get enough liquid inside. I'm hoping that will change with the Grand. I am looking forward to seeing what 2012 has in store with mods since they have come such a long way in such a short amount of time. However, from all of my research, a Reo Grand with my boge LR 2.0s seems to be the best fit (I hope).
