Reo Grand & Flat Top Batts

Can anyone suggest a 30Amp flat top that will fire in my reo grand with the new sub ohm kit? I know I know the aw imrs are reccomended but my mod keeps tearing the red outer coating of the batteries and I have to trash them. I'd like something more durable and I hear other batteries specifically flat tops don't tear like the imr

Robert has stated that flattops will work fine with the sub-ohm kits.

there is no reason i know of why your mod is tearing the wrappers off the AW IMRs. most of us have been using them for a long time without problems

I'm not sure either I've gone through 5 or 6 batteries

Why not rewrap them with electrical tape from the jump? It will have the added benefit of being blacked out so it doesn't show through the squonk hole.

the bottom of the battery where the plastic comes off is neg so whats the issue ? it is more than likely your charger that does this my old ultrafire I think does this to my batts It really isn't an issue

The wrappers tearing in a Reo should be a non-issue. You aren't sliding the batteries into a tube, so that aspect is gone. Some people do mount simple tape or use a piece of cloth ribbon as a battery pull but that's optional.

Isn't someone out there selling heat shrink in the right size to use as an 18650 replacement wrapper?

turn your batteries around, upside down.

efest 30A are flat tops and work great for me, a few times I've vaped all the way to 3.6-3.7 without noticing any loss in power, I don't know much about the purple efest but they 35A

I got some heat shrink tubing and over the standard wrapping it made the bat too thick for the Reo, might work if you pull the original wrap off though.

Just picked this one up today to get ready for the sub ohm kit

So far so good,hits like a champ. We'll see how it holds up tonight.

Im pretty certain from the pic that battery is way too long for the mod the safety can't work with it like that

It does compress the spring quite a bit, all of my flat tops do. There's a little room for the battery to drop but not much.
