Can the reo take both nippled and flat to batteries?

Yes, but you may notice some sparking which leads to oxidation on your firing pin which leads to having to file it.

I put a dab of Noalox on my flat top batteries before they go in my Reo, no sparking

Awesome, thanks! I'm not going to sub-ohm on it, at least right away. Would it help to shave the point, on the firing pin, a little bit? Sorry for the hijack guys, I've been wondering about this for a while.

Probably, but I'm not gonna bother....I run twisted 28 at 0.7 ohms and with my Sony 30a batteries, it'll spark like crazy without a heft amount of noalox.

The REO's are made to use the button top battery. The travel distance of the firing contact is greater with the flat top and it changes the angle of contact some. You might notice using the flat tops over time the contact may be weakened.

The new sub-ohm kit that will be out next month will work fine with the flat top batteries.

When deviating from the recommended batteries always pay attention to the spring. Because it will collapse in a short. If your battery is too long it will compress the spring and it will not allow it to disengage the battery if you have a short. This presents a safety concern.

Thanks for the information!
