Older contacts need to be filed and noaloxed, and i mean file it, not tickle it!

Deoxit is good for the newer contacts, but they need careful cleaning - never file those, they are copper underneath, not steel. It's also good to put on top and bottom of your batteries.

The rest i cannot help you with - i thought everyone used pliers to get atties on and off ;)

Hey Megan..Welcome to Reoville..Yeah 'um hon..use Noalox please..Just a dab on a Q Tip for the contact and spring. You shouldn't be tightening your atty with a wrench..lol
Sorry..really tho..Megan those things have an O Ring for a purpose. Hand tighten it to just when it fires then put the air hole where ya want it. I put mine to the left facing door..well because I don't want hot juice on my chinny chin chin. :D

All is good hon..ask away..More knowlegable people in here that I for sure.

Shop IDEAL 4-oz Tube Noalox Anti-Oxidant at Lowes.com

Come on, give me a little more credit than that! LOL! I was using the wrench to loosen the atty, not tighten it! Seriously Sirius....I thought we were friends

Pliers not wrench, duh

To get the RM2 airhole to point where you want consider using an o-ring between the topcap and base of it.

"Trunker - why do i feel a warm breeze on my chin when i vape?"

Air hole is pointing at you dear!

What would you do without HRH Trunker? :D

Oh , the other thing about the scratched atty. Sandpaper. If you really go for it you can make the entire thing brass looking because it is chromed brass to begin with.

Use a 510 adaptor with the atty screwed in it and run it in a drill over sandpaper.

What's for dinner?

T

Oh you're charging for your knowledge now Trunker?

Thanks T, you have been very helpful :)

Dinner? Hmmm....I still have to go Grocery shopping. I cooked a 20lb Turkey Thursday and the hubs just may try to kill me if I try making another Turkey variant again. Hehehe...I'd invite you over but dinner might be cold by the time you got here from Texas.

Doesn't everyone?

no charge.

take or leave my thoughts as you see fit. Years of failures, melted buttons, wrecked coils, all distilled into one Terminator so you can learn from my mistakes and then go out and make your own! :)

If it is an older REOS, be careful about over tightening the RM2 - there should be a gasket inside of the 510 connector. I know for a fact over tightening can damage that gasket, but Rob can fix that easy. The little o-ring we use around the 510 connector is supposed to help with that. Emory cloth, if you have any, will smooth out any marks on the brass RM2.
Welcome to REOVille. If you start your own thread in this sub-forum, you will make at least twenty new friends. Maybe even a 'Welcome' from this guy who calls himself 'redeyedancer'. That's Rob O'Neill, the man who made your new (to you) Reos Woodvil.
