I think I spent a bit more time in Reoville now; I seem to be getting lured into arguments about battery safety - the one issue with vaping is almost everyone reads a single article or checks a vendor website for battery specs and think they're Nikola Freakin' Tesla. I think I give up on that safety aspect and should just eat popcorn while people blow their mods up in their pockets.

I used to post quite a bit about battery safety, especially to newbies, but so many have jumped on that, I've backed off. I'm glad there are so many well versed in it. It still sends shivers up my spine when I read about some things people do. I won't get into debates.

It's tempting, I've already got into two today. Time to give up. The only thing I have left to do with batteries is to try some Sony VTC3's that a local vendor has to see how they compare to my LG HE2's for run time. Plus they're $2 cheaper per battery. Maybe I'll hunt down some reviews. From what I've seen higher mah doesn't always mean better run time, and the VTC3's have some legendary low resistance internally.

I have backed off as well. I have left it up to Baditude to try and set the newbs straight. That guy is at the top of the battery game.

Never tried those. I've got VTC5's and Samsungs, and the runtimes on the Samsungs are better for me. Be interested to see what you come up with on those VTC3's.

Except he is no longer on here due to personal circumstances.

But his blogs are very clear and still available.

It's been so long since I've been in any battery threads, I would've never known. Too bad and a tragic loss for ECF. Hope he gets it together and back in there to keep people straight.

From what I've read and the charts I've seen the LG HE2's perform longer than the Sony's (I think the test was on VTC5's) at lower amps (I think below 11amp draw or so). It was noticibly better, but I don't remember how much in mAh or actual vape time that turns into, but its noticeable. At higher amperage (assuming the limit was 20amps since thats what the continuous rating on the LG's are) the Sony's perform better, so its all in what you are doing.

I hear you, but I think it's important, so I'm not backing off. If someone blows up a mod in a croweded place its more ammo for the ANTZ.. I doubt reporters will be talking about battery misuse.. instead they will be highlighting how vaping is dangerous to everyone... framing it as if mods just spontaneously explode.
