Good morning, Reoville! I'm surprised at all of folks getting the flu especially AFTER getting the flu shot. Has anyone got the flu that also did not receive the shot? I haven't got mine yet as I just haven't managed to drive up to the clinic to get it yet, and, I might not. Seems it's totally ineffective to the strains of flu that are going around. Anyway, another crappy weather day today and all week, until the weekend. You all try to have a good day today :).

TORY!!!

It's so good to see you!

As for Deadwood, the reason it ended so strangely was because the head producer/ director/writer decided he was tired of it and went on to other things...which failed i'm glad to say.... the DW fanatics raised a lot of ruckus with him so he promised a 2-hour "grand finale" to end the series..which of course never happened.

Oh there was a LOT of P-O'd DW fanatics out there!

This is my sister and her husband two years ago. He got a flu shot and developed Guillian Barre from the shot. He was in ICU then in rehab for months. At first he couldn't even swallow. Couldn't walk, couldn't talk, couldn't sit up by himself. After a long recovery he has almost returned to normal. But he is unable to work. Considered disabled.

There are many reasons not to get the flu shot. All it takes is a little research to really know if you think it is a necessary thing to do to your body. My sister and her husband learned while he was in ICU that the flu shot was the primary concern for his illness. Yes, the medical people know what can happen.

And of course keeping warm.

I haven't forgot about you Torey! I just don't see you around as often. Doesn't mean I don't think of you though. :) You never said my hat was cool, though. Or maybe I'm forgetting more and more (probably the latter :) )

Hugs,
Fleet

I was on the fence about it last week, and decided to get one while at the pharmacy. Had I read first what you've written I think I would have changed my mind :(

Thanks, Karen, that post made my mind up. They can keep their shots!

Thanks Karen, You have reaffirmed why I have not had a flu shot since 1984.
I got one that year, and do not ever remember being so sick.

I had been telling people for years to please do some reading before going to get a flu shot. But even my own sister didn't listen! Now she helps people to be informed. She almost lost her husband and she herself had gotten sick after the shot. I just wish she wouldn't have had to go through that to learn.

My children had problems with vaccinations. My youngest one could not even get all of hers. Once computers were around I found out that it is very common. That made me start reading and searching before I made decisions on medications or vaccines.

I found making my own decisions works for me. Believe me, in my line of work the flu shot comes highly recommended. But it is NOT something I will ever do.
