I think its slated for a consumer preview (the technical one is out already) - Personally I switched to Mac... Been on it for over a year and its still good as new... of course I had to put Windows 7 in a VM, being a .Net developer (microsoft technology). Got my wife one to replace her old laptop, and shes slowly come around :)

I have windows 8 on my mac and it makes zero sense to me for what I wanted it for its not worth it the mac does everything and more than I need :) and it is way nicer to use than any PC I've every used

When I bought the Mac it was the best windows laptop on the market.... Lol
Figured if I didn't like OS X I could just wiped it and put windows on it... Haven't put windows on it and don't plan too! ... Well I have windows in a vm... But that just runs things Mac can't: visual studio, ssms, and such... Don't have windows on there natively...

I would love a Mac, but it's a bit to pricey for me! I've been on Windows all my computer owning life, and I don't know if I could figure out Macs OS or not. Maybe it's even easier than Windows.

It's definately not a maybe it's so user friendly even I can figure it out. The only problem I've ever had is over thinking how to get somewhere on it. Old habits from PC days

Well, over thinking causes all kinds of problems, not just with computers :)

For users - Macs are nice , but bloody expensive.

Windows 7 has been their best offering in years, but they cannot make 2 good ones in succession, so 8 is crap and it's always been like this. This time they have decided to completely omit Windows 9 and just roll with 10.
Nice to see such confidence in a product no?

Then there is another group of users we can reasonably define as cheapskates, coders, computer techies and so on. Those are the people Linux appeals to.

I built the machine i am typing this on 7 years ago,
