My first laptop was a monochrome displayed Compaq too, and it was portable in the same way a refrigerator is!

Microsoft is also thinking about making Windows 10 on a monthly subscription basis as opposed to a one time purchase of the OS.

Bill is a great humanitarian and a fine person but his hard drive is....well, not so hard anymore. It happens.
I get no dinner tonight, because HRH has a cold and feels unable to do anything apart from watch Grey's Anatomy.
Which is not a problem since i am quite a scavenger anyway. Your dinner appears to be missing the potatoes, but having struggled last night with a baked potato that was like eating an exhumed Sidney Poitier, i'm quite amenable to just eating vitamin pills from now on.

I went MAC over 10 years ago. Mac Mini, a great into into the OS X intro. Then bought an early 2008 MacBook which is my everyday all day computer. I have this beauty plugged in all day and take it where I need to go and even to this day, I get over two hours as of battery charge. Yes, this is the original battery. I know what has been said about not keeping your laptop not kept plugged in but I gotta say, I am only now getting ready to get a new battery. That is almost 7 years on one battery!! Yeah, I know two hours may not be enough for some people but realize, this is 7 years of on and off again battery usage. In addition, this bad boy computer has never had a problem from day one.
Mac's are built solid! Not a big problem switching from MS to OS. The biggest obstacle was finding a financial software that would carry over to OS. Finally went with MoneyWorth from Quicken. Wasn't a seamless transfer but well worth the effort in the long run. Mind you that was seven years ago so programs may have changed in its ability to incorporate from one software to another.
I would highly recommend checking out the refurbished MAC's for purchasing. They have the full Apple warranty and you could save a lot of money.
