Thanks for the welcome! Im not a rare one brotha - if you came here you'd see that most everyone in the ADKS loves winter. People on the news and ecf may not like it but that doesn't make me rare. Winter is amazing but you've gotta ski or snowshoe or do something to enjoy it, if you have a winter sport it's enjoyable. Summer is what I don't like actually. Bugs and heat :) it's one reason I left the south

I'm one of the rare ones as I moved from 32yrs of sunny southern California back to Illinois 2yrs ago because I missed the winter weather... Actually I think it was I missed the seasonal changes more, but I love the snow and cold... In California it was basically one season all year round...hot and miserable... They can keep it...

We used to have 4 distinct season but now we are down to only 2. Sweat or sweatshirts. I love both seasons. Never been to California but it's on my bucket list. Seems like the older I get. . . the longer that darn list gets.

Hugs to all that want one.

rat, I didn't say anything's wrong with the south :) I don't like it for a number of reasons but nothing's wrong with it whatsoever. Sorry if I offended you, there was nothing malicious or even close to it intended in my statement. My meaning was solely "I don't like heat and bugs" :)

I don't like the heat either...bugs I can deal with (eat garlic alot in the summer) and I have to agree with you about winter. Some sort of activity is essential (snowshoes, skis, snowboard etc.) I grew up in "ski country" and enjoy hitting the slopes. Where I live now on the coast of Maine is not fun for snow...it's like getting snow when living in a major metropolitian area...snow turns brown and gray real fast.

Brown and gray snow ain't no fun brother, neither is wet snow. So the late fall and early spring here are messy because it's not cold enough for the snow to take on its true form of fluff. Do you live anywhere near Rob brother? I didn't know you were in Maine. I love your state. Never did finish the AT, but I can't wait to hike NH and ME :) I've been to Portland before, and actually had a great time there.

Wow! What a surprise to see YOU here! LOL! Guess you never can tell who will pop into the lounge. Kick up your feet, get comfy, and vape with REO pride!

Haha thanks, puffin away on my REO with pride my heavenly sista! Hey, when can I expect another vid showing how you maintain your woodvils? No but seriously it would make my day! You rock on camera and YouTube is lacking on the Woodvil front :)

Might get some stuff together and do another video. I agree, not many with Woodvils out there. Glad you enjoyed the one I did.

Sheesh! Don't get your boxers in a bunch. I thought you knew I was a daft woman. I was only kidding you. I'm from the South. And if you're ever this way, I'll buy ya some ice cream and fan you if you get to hot. And definitely swat those skeeters off of you. :) I haven't had a mosquito bite since I was a little bitty thing. Probably because of the mass consumption of garlic I eat. Now you know me. . .

Haha I figured you were joshin' sis but it's always hard to tell with text, I just wanted to be sure you knew I wasn't knockin' the south :)

Where ya live sis? I'll be heading to East TN sometime this year to visit my dad and a few friends. Might head down to GA too to see some buds there. I grew up in Johnson City TN - you're talking my language with ice cream sis, I used to eat a half gallon a day. Vaping helped me cut back, LOL

Nerak you'd make a sloth very happy with another woodvil vid :) I'm gonna try and get one next run, but, I'm nervous about how to properly care for them.

I am about 18 miles from Rob and about 6 miles from Portland...I used to be a whitewater rafting guide and on off days I would be the canoe shuttle for AT thru-hikers to cross the Kennebec River. I miss that part of the state

Beautiful country up there! My folks lived for 20 years in Madison, near the Kennebec. They ended up moving down here to Texas to be near my sis and myself about 14 years ago.

I know Madison quite well...WAY back when I was in high school we used to play soccer and basketball against the Bulldogs

I loved Galveston, the beach and the heat, but they have had bad weather to. In 2004 we got like 6-8" of snow and for Christmas in 83 it got down to like 18 degrees for about a week over. None of the houses were built for it and it did millions in damage. You couldn't get plumbing parts, because everyone was sold out. I wound up going to Hi-Lo auto parts and buying a bunch of heater hose and using it to patch breaks.
