The Galveston blizzard of 2004. Okay, maybe it was only like 4 or 5 inches. That's the 61st street pier that the couple was trapped in during hurricane Ike.

So far our snow has been very fluffy and easy to remove. We didn't get ice and things were pretty dry before it fell. With the very low temps this will stick around for awhile. Still snowing. Should end around 6p.m. I will have to see how it looks in the morning. My usual grocery day might not happen. It is tough to push carts through snow! And the grocery stores don't clean the parking lots well. Can't wait for the weather to warm. But I realize around here that might not happen till April.

Can't wait till I get to move to Tucson, Arizona!

I moved about a year before, if I hadn't I'm sure I wouldn't have left. The house I lived in was pretty screwed up so maybe it's good that I moved. I never ran from a storm the whole time I lived there. My mom and step siblings all stayed and hunkered down and they were okay.

Well, winter storm Octavia is not much of a Southern Belle.
Sacked out around 5:30, had set the alarm for 1am. Woke up for midnight snack (Mamaw's Banana Raisin Nut Bread was calling to me) and stumbled out towars the kitchen. As I looked out the French doors, I could see the deck covered with 1/4 to 1/2 of solid ice. Even the Sheppards, Remi and Urlacher, don't want anything to do with this. I opened the door, they just went out and circled right back into the house. Guess I won't be working tomorrow.....

That's crazy cold for you guys isn't it?

Never posted here...thought I'd drop in and say hello and see what this REO Lounge stuff's all about :)

YES!!! lol Howdy Bubba!! :) Good to see ya in here!! Like he said, not down to 20, but it is posed to be 27 here tonite........and that is ridiculously crazy cold, and we've had a lot of it this year!! I'm freezin!! We just have space heaters and they just don't cut it when it's this cold!

Thanks for the welcome! Im not a rare one brotha - if you came here you'd see that most everyone in the ADKS loves winter. People on the news and ecf may not like it but that doesn't make me rare. Winter is amazing but you've gotta ski or snowshoe or do something to enjoy it, if you have a winter sport it's enjoyable. Summer is what I don't like actually. Bugs and heat :) it's one reason I left the south

I don't like da bugs, but I can take the heat way better than the cold. I have serious pain issues when it gets cold, so bring on da heat!!

Might get some stuff together and do another video. I agree, not many with Woodvils out there. Glad you enjoyed the one I did.

Be sure to post it here when ya do!

I am about 18 miles from Rob and about 6 miles from Portland...I used to be a whitewater rafting guide and on off days I would be the canoe shuttle for AT thru-hikers to cross the Kennebec River. I miss that part of the state

Welcome Shane!! (unless you've been in here a lot and just were gone for a bit, then just ignore me) :)

I loved Galveston, the beach and the heat, but they have had bad weather to. In 2004 we got like 6-8" of snow and for Christmas in 83 it got down to like 18 degrees for about a week over. None of the houses were built for it and it did millions in damage. You couldn't get plumbing parts, because everyone was sold out. I wound up going to Hi-Lo auto parts and buying a bunch of heater hose and using it to patch breaks.

Jup Alicia in 83 messed the weather up big time!! That was noooooo fun at all! I was in Galveston then and we were so not prepared!
