Just looked out the window. Karen isn't gonna like what's headed her way. The white stuff is falling again.

yuuuckkkk I feel so bad for y'all livin up there in that stuff. I lived in Ohio and Ky for some years, and had a brother and sister in Indy. Hope y'all aren't gettin it near as bad as other folks. all y'all just need to move to Texas!! But we'll be back down to freezin again tomorrow night. But no sign of the white stuff. We never get much here, and when we do it don't stick around long. One year when my son was younger, he used bout every bit of snow in the yard and managed to make about a one foot tall snowman on the trunk of my car! so wish I could have gotten a pic of that!! Broke my heart when I had to go to work and it fell off.

Good Morning Reoville!
Karen knew it was coming! It is not going to be good. It will warm to about 40 today and we will get some rain. Then it will change to ice then snow.

I knew I needed some snow removed yesterday so it won't be as bad when I get out there tomorrow.

At least with the van covered in snow the ice won't stick to the windows!! Unless we get enough rain that it turns it all into ice.

So ready for winter to go away!

Lol, I can just picture you pulling away in the car and it falling off the back hitting the ground. Where in Texas are you from/living? Me and my wife are originally from Texas. We're both from the Rio Grande Valley area. I grew up in Brownsville and she was from Los Fresnos, and tiny town north of Brownsville, and we met each other when my family moved there while I was in the 8th grade. I started high school there and that's how we met my senior year back in 1999.

There was one year I remember it snowed on Xmas eve back home. Me and my wife where living in Tucson, Az. and I had just returned from a deployment to Afghanistan and I took some leave to go home for the holidays. We drove 19hrs back home in time for Xmas and New Years, I think it was in 2004. I remember my dad looking out the window, it was about 10:30pm and him saying it was snowing. Of course none of us believed him so he walked out side and two minutes later comes back in thru the front door and starts nailing people with snowballs, lol. We couldn't believe it, snowed on Xmas eve and actually had a white Xmas. News reports and newspapers covered the story and had said it was the first time in 109 years they actually had snow fall that was recorded and it stuck for about two days then melted away.

Since I've been here in southern ga, I've seen snowfall a few times but it has never stuck, it will usually melt as soon as it hits the ground.

I really do feel for you folks who live up where the snow can be a problem. I grew up in Florida and did not see snow until I was 23 years old. Then, my first experience was on the big island, Hawaii. Since then, I travelled the world thanks to Uncle Sugar, and have seen enough snow to know it can be fun on a vacation but not so much to live and work with my sort of vocation.

Stay safe, warm and dry, my northern brothers and sisters!

hey Reopeeps!

Yesterday I was in a store for about an hour, went to open the trunk of the car...and couldn't, it was frozen tight, had to put my purchases in the backseat!

I'm gonna stop watching the country-wide weather reports till at least April...it's horrible all over the country!

It just occurred to me that maybe part of the reason that the mali delivery is so bad lately is because of the unusually bad weather conditions. My new mini raw tumbled Reo was supposed to be here yesterday according to the tracking...sure hope it's here today.

As of it's arrival I'll have a metallic red, a black one and a metallic purple ( that I got from Rob/Ratman in the classies) Oh the fun I'll have switching out the doors on them:laugh:

My package was diverted too, but I live in South Georgia. Weather isn't bad it's just cold, there's no rain in the forecast, damn sure isn't any snow. I just think my other package didn't arrive in time to make the postal truck that brings packages to Georgia from Florida. I honestly believe there may only be one truck a day for that shipment. And jacksonville doesn't wait for that truck to come back, they toss the package on a truck to Tallahassee, and when that happens those dudes sit on the package until the next day cause their georgia truck already left for the day and they have to wait. Said thing is, Jax is about 2hrs 20 minutes away and Tally is only an hour away, but I still have to wait all day for the package to hit my mailbox. Maybe, I'll have two packages arrive today, maybe...

That's crazy, I don't even think I had it that bad when I was living up in Alaska. In Anchorage, we'd have our season's...winter and spring for the most part from what it seemed like. During the winter it was usually just super cold, usually below 0 degree weather so snow just stayed and piled up everywhere. When it would warm up enough to melt some snow, that would refreeze at night causing some ice, but nothing a little salt couldn't take care of. Plus, the city maintained the roads all the time and was always plowing and deicing the roadways. For the most part, traffic on the roads would keep ice to a minimum and occasionally you would find patches of black ice and of course an accident or two. Wild life...moose in particular were a majority of what caused the accident in the first place. Either moose walking out into traffic causing some unlucky motorist to hit Bullwinkle or just having moose along the roadway and people would be rubbernecking while driving thus causing an accident. Most of the accidents occurred at the start of winter when it was mostly ice, you'd have people sliding thru intersections from them trying to stop at the red light. The general rule of thumb was to wait a good two or three seconds after the light turns green before going incase some one was sliding thru the traffic light. Oh the memories, I had a great time in Alaska, our son was born there and is native Alaskan so I plan to go back in a couple of years and show him where he was born, and use his native status to our advantage when trying to catch salmon. Natives are allowed to keep more per day than visitors/non natives. Anyway, hopefully winter starts to wind down a bit for all you all stuck in the middle of it. Down in the south, next week were expected to start seeing 70 degree weather. Should be nice, but I'm sure we'll get a few showers during the week like we normally do. We'll be paying the price this summer though with 90+ degree weather along with 100% humidity. That should be fun!! Not!!
