Fortunately my heat is included in my rent. Unfortunately it doesn't work well when it drops to low 20's (F) and below. So the little space heaters are used sparingly. Maybe adds 10.00 a month to my electric bill.

Deb: yes, we've had a few "warm" days, high 40's, so most of where I need to walk has de-iced. Except the trip to the dumpster, that's like a skating rink. Nothing worse than a coat of water on slick ice.
I am still feeling pain from slipping on the ice by my big garbage bin. It sits in the shade for most of the day and didn't melt away. I held on to the bin trying with one foot to find a spot I could trust to hold me while I moved the other. Not fun! But with all the warmer temps this week it should go away.

Not having the most pleasant day here at work. Lots of stress. And I am trying to get by with just my acetaminophen for my pain.
But....four years ago today I bought my very first REO! I didn't get it till four days later though. It was a time when finding even one REO on reosmods was tough. They sold so quick! I wanted a Grand and there were none. So I looked in the classy's. There was a guy selling some other wooden boxes and a Purple Grand. Didn't even want the boxes. And Purple, well it was not my favorite color. But it was a REO Grand and still available, and payment was sent.
I didn't have any idea how my life would change. Didn't know about the REO forum. Never talked with someone that owned a REO. Wow, what a joy to find a place where people were friendly and I could read all the information available.
Not going to get into my number of REO's and my desire to have a great collection. That all just came natural at that time in my life.
I will say I have never looked back, never regretted a REO purchase, and I was very lucky to find out about REO's here on ECF.
I remember that day four years ago. Sitting, wondering about buying off the classy's, and spending that much on a REO.

A lot has happened in those4 years, hasn't it? Added just a few to the collection. It will be a year next month that I found my first Reo on the classifieds, a really old one pre-owned by Basilray which has subsequently gone out on loan, maybe permanently, but have picked up some more in the meantime. It's so nice to find something like this that works like a champ and near indestructible.

I am sitting here at work vaping "that" Purple Grand! It has the new contacts upgrade now, and wearing a black wrinkle door, and a custom button cover! Biggest change is the RM2 instead of a disposable atomizer.
Funny when I see new people buying their first and being amazed I remember my first statement. Wow, so this is what it is like to have a REO! LOL!
Doesn't usually matter if the first is pre-owned. Robert can bring it back to like new if it is a metal REO. With the woods it is tougher, but he does a damn fine job renovating a well worn wood REO too!
I have one of mine at the spa now, ready to come home. I have 2 more to send.

Amazing to think there are thousands of people out there that have never heard of ECF, and they use a REO! It is hard to believe but not every Reonaut knows about the family we have on here. Hell, they don't even know that they are called a Reonaut! LOL! Makes me wonder if they have a name for squonking! LOL!
Having a slow morning at work...clients are taking their sweet time getting into work. So I'll take this short opportunity to post a couple of photos of the progress we have made up here.
Here is the house, front yards (ha, ya ....right), and shop. The left side is ours and the right side is my father-in-law's. As you can see we have a ton of work to do outside. Landscape, construction and tree clearing clean up is a must. And we have to finish the gravel driveway. We overspent before we could order the last 2 loads of gravel, so we need to build up the coffers before we finish. That will come later this spring.
Here is the new shop...attached to the back of the old shop. This is really big, but its so hard to capture the size on camera. 30x30 in front, 45x56 in back. When we can save enough money, we'll re-roof the front to match. For a 30+ year old shop, it's withstood the test of time really well.
And here are a couple of photos of some of our new projects...Wayne needs something to do now that our home is complete and the loan is closed.
Can't have him sitting around being bored. The green one was mine and the other one is his (pictured with him, his son & grandson). We've since acquired one more for me, but I haven't taken pictures of it yet. The green one will be a parts rig for now, but then we'll restore it later....like in 10 years, if ever. These are family projects...things for us to work on together (us, dad, and even the kids & grandkids from time to time).
This is an idea of what we're shooting for with at least one of the Willys. We'll use them for work and play with our company logo on them.
