Sterno, she is 1/2 GSD, 1/2 Australian Shepherd. She is the same kind as Papaw's two dogs. My dog's mom was a full blood white GSD, about a hundred pounds. (sorta big for a female) Her daddy was a full blood red merle Aussie. He was about normal, or a little over normal size. Both nice looking dogs. They kept 2 boy puppies from the first litter. One looked like a GSD, the other looked like an Aussie. Both of them had their ears down. The lady said my puppy is the only one she knows of, that had ears up. The one that looked like the GSD, looks very similar to my dog. But my dog looks a little different. He is black and cream. My dog was mostly black and cream, but now she is turning sable. She might be 2 before I know what her final color will be. Her top side was totally black. Now it is light, with black tinged hair. The family I got her from live out in the boonies. The dogs watched their livestock. (mostly chickens I think) They were ALL excellent watch dogs too, especially the mama dog. My puppy is from the 2nd litter. They were going to spay the female after this. They ended up having one of the pups returned to them. They decided to keep her. I think the other dog that family had, didn't get along with the puppy, or something like that. Maybe it was hyper like my dog, and they didn't want to say what the real reason was, I'm not sure.

what kind of puppy do you have KK ?

My brother had a pure bred aussie and man was that dog hyper. Took her many years to grow out of it. She chewed the leg off of their new couch, so they fenced her in the kitchen while they were away. Dog chewed the linoleum off the floor. So then they decided to keep her in the bathroom. Dog chewed through the water line to the toilet. When they came home the entire floor of their house was under 2" of water :)

I had to babysit her for 2 weeks while he went on vacation and what a pain that was. I almost called him back early because I simply couldn't deal with such a hyper dog.

After she grew out of all that she was quite a good dog. Always hyper but not causing thousands of dollars of damage :)

Rev, The first two minutes were less than stellar for me. Those sounds they were making in ultra high speed were way too fast for my natural Texas drawl...lol. But the music was kinda cool, especially in parts. Maybe you had to be in the right "frame of mind" for it. I like a wide variety of music. But my favorite kind is Texas rock, with a bit of blues etc... Give me some Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ZZ Top...you know...something with a wild guitar going on. But I can dig all kinds of music. Not so much country, opera, or rap....but even those have some goodies.

Kay, I don't have a FB. I could not view what you were talking about. I bet it was cool though.

Rev, now that was a frightening story! I had a Springer Spaniel once. He was my first dog, after I got out of the USN. (he was one of my wedding presents) I loved him like a child. He wasn't hyper, but he had separation anxiety. We lived in a duplex, when I first got him. He was tormented by the little kids next door. He hated kids after that. Then a few months later we moved here. Two older tweener aged kids tormented my dog. I told them they better leave him alone, because if he ever gets out of that fence, he is gonna GET YOU. Well they didn't come back. A few years later, I had my first child. He was fine with her (but I never trusted him with her), up until she just turned one. Then she told him NO, through the patio door. He tried to get her, through the glass door. So right after that, I put him up for adoption, in the newspaper. I miss that dog. But he was a termite dog. He was fine in the house with me. If I was gone too long though, he was a destructive dog. One time on a holiday, we were gone allll day. We got back that night. I thought we had been robbed. He destroyed the house. The dog had a stomach of iron too. He actually ate glass, and never had a problem. My ex used to mow the back yard, and have a cold beer afterwards. He would sometimes forget, and leave the bottle outside. The dog would put it between his paws, like a bone, and EAT IT. I have never seen anything like that before in my life. If you went to work, he was okay. But as I said, don't leave him alone too long. I worked shift work, and my husband worked day shift. Somebody was usually at home, most of the time. So, yes, I do know what you mean.

Aussies need a job. My dog has tried to herd me. I am not sure yet, if she knows her job is to protect me. (besides be my companion) Training is also a job. Her job is to learn. Right now she thinks her job is to release my son's dog from the pen outside. She works on it daily. She wants a playmate, so she is bound and determined to release him, from his "prison". He is only in there because he will jump out, climb out, dig out, of the yard. I can't let him play with her outside. He will teach her how to get out, and then it will be a never ending nightmare. That dog is old, but could easily get out. I had to even put a top on his pen. He stays inside when the weather is too hot, or too cold. He is in every night. He can jump from a sitting position, to right in your face, in one leap. He looks like small pit bull, but he doesn't have it. He is 1/2 Boston Terrier and 1/2 German Pincher. He is the ultimate varmit catcher.

Yep, the first two minutes are very different from what most are used to. My favorite parts were when the acoustic guitar player came in with his lead and then he and the sitar player played together. Musically speaking it was very well done. Some things I appreciate for their complexity and musicality. Plus, playing myself, I know how hard that was to play, at least it would be for me.

I have an album version of it where the vocalizations don't last as long, but the song is shorter. Still, very good.

Not for most, I'm sure but nothing else was going on here at the time :)

I like the sitar. Like I said, it did have good moments for me. Kind of reminded me of 60's music in parts. My parents never played that kind of music. But the people next door did. :)

It's funny, my mom, who I lived with back in the 60's, didn't either. More like Sound of Music, Herb Alpert and a bunch of other stuff. But now I'm sending her music from when I grew up and she loves it. She was too busy raising kids to get into the hippie scene. I didn't have any kids then :)

My mom liked Herb Alpert and the Tijuna Brass too! (also Tom Jones, Elvis, Charley Rich) Her favorite stuff was Motown though. My dad was older than her though. He wasn't into hippie music, to say the least. LOL.... he didn't mind Tommy James and the Shondels though. But it wasn't his style. He liked country more, but my mother didn't care for that. I was mainly into rock, or pop music back then. As I grew older, I was especially into hard rock, or heavy metal. My father HATED it. My mother didn't care for some of my music, but was more understanding.

One of my sons was into metal, specifically emo metal, when he was in his teens. He was playing the guitar and I supported him even though it wasn't my style. He also turned me onto some good stuff, my most favorite being Sublime.

Hey Reoville!!!

I've been extremely energetic/busy, but I took a little pc break and saw this, so thought I'd share it before I forgot:
That was interesting! I knew about using it on locks, and a great way to get it inside the lock is to spray it on your key, then push the key in and out a few times. Never thought about it for bugs, but I used to spray Raid on my screens and door frames.

Howdy y'all!!
